Hi there, i got a negative hpt after my af was 2 weeks late, then i tested again a week later and i still got a negative hpt, so i thought my af must be coming and that it was just late. Two week after that i went to my doctor and he tested me and blue two lines came straight up!!! So all together it took me 5 weeks to get a postive test.

With my second pregancy, i tested 3 days before my af was due and got a postive straight way!!!

Thanks maybe1more, I am one day late,and just got a :bfn: My cycle is 28 days and no sign of af, i had some light cramping last week but its all gone away now:confused:

Its so confusing isnt it!!! My doctor told me the some hpt are strong enought to pick up htg (pregancy hormone) and thats why we can sometimes get a negative results and then a week later get a postive one. I was using the cheaper one`s the first time (the ones where you pee in a cup and wait 5 mins) second time around i got clear blue and its work spot on. As hard as it is try and hold off a few days before testing again and hopefully the hormone will be stonger.

:shame: you know the POAS's are evil. You werent meant to test till thursday :shame: naughty naughty.

Remember that sometimes bubs implants a bit later ... so HCG doesnt start to increase till later.

If you only had some cramping late last week this may well have been implanting, so you wont get a :bfp: for another few days at least ... if not a week.

Provided you dont get af ... all is good.

The month I actually got pregnant I had totally given up - had actually forgotten to even test. My appointment for IVF was in a few weeks and I was resigned to that .....

I am going ok - meds make me really really really tired, but other than that all is good.

Thx Ziggy i was thinking of starting a thread like this!! I am 2 days late for AF tomorrow too. I did HPT yesterday and got :bfn: and not sure whether to do another tomorrow morning..... I don't feel like AF is coming and am (and have for a week or so now) having light crampy sensations but not AF type. Cervix is still quite high and soft but trying not to read too much into all this. Must prepare self for probable BFN.

Ness27, my cervix is very high and soft too! still no sign tonight of af no pains nothing, boobs were sore when i took off my bra and stomach a little queezy but thats about it!!!

belindajane, i will definatley keep you posted and you too,:fingerscrossed: for you girl.

Basically, it depends on what level of hCG your POAS can detect. The most common on the market test 25miu of hCG, which isn't very sensitive, and is usually reached sometime between the 1st day of your missed and the following week (or two)....but its dependant on so many factors - ie what time of the day you test, how much fluid you've drunk and when (so how diluted your urine is), when in your cycle you ovulated, when implantation occurred etc

If you want to have the best chance of picking up a pregnancy on a POAS, you should buy the most sensitive HPT you can - 10miu is the most sensitive available - test with first morning urine after not having consumed much fluid (if any) overnight, and wait until after your AF was due.

For what its worth, its taken a week after AF was due with both my kids for it to show up on a HPT - even with all the above factors!

it's so good to know that other people are in the same boat as me! I had some twingey sort of pains and a couiple of spots a few days ago, but then.. nothing. i got a :bfn: on monday, but still no AF.. up to day 38 now (usually have a 32-34 day cycle tho..) and a little confused. :confused: I hope you other girls all get your BFP's soon!! the wait can be so hard can't it!

Me too!! Thank goodness a doc at the hospital would actually listen to me or I mightn't have DS (I insisted on an u/s before abdominal surgery). Even though I "felt" pregnant (we weren't TTC) it was a lovely shock when I saw that little black blob at 9 weeks! :laughing:

First pregnancy I got :bfn: every second day from 1 day late until 9 days late when I finally got my first :bfp:! It floored me as by then I was sure I wasn't pregnant!

This pregnancy I got a feint :bfp: at jut 10 dpo, which floored me as I thought it was WAY too early! Another fairly feint one 13 dpo, nice dark ones at 15 and 19dpo. :goodvibes:

Yeah - had 2 blood tests done which were both negative. As I was ill at the time, the doctors kept putting all my pregnancy symptoms down to illness - don't know why but just seemed to know I was pg even though we weren't TTC.

This time I am in 2WW and so impatient.. and have no clue!:p

well... still no af and we're now up to 9 days late!! i think i'm going to test tomorrow. i don't want to get my hopes up though becuase it's only been the past 12 months AF has been regular anyway, before that they were all over the place since i was 16 (on contraception, nothing seemed to agree with me!). so i'm hopefuly, but trying not to be too hopeful! :)

Hi everyone, long time no post...I'm ow officially 6 days late and still no:bfp:!!!

Driving me a little bananas and driving partner even more bananas.

Uhhhggggh. I do have a lot of symptoms....Waking up at 3am every morning then again at...and i'm not kidding 6:48am on the DOT. It's kind of starting to freak me out... :)

Also :barf:and peeing 50 million times a day and all stuffed up like I'm getting a cold and TIRED and my boobs are HUGE!!!! (kinda fun for me coz i'm usually a small b at best...) and very owie....oh yeah and the hot sweats are fun...not

hmm #1 I still had AF (2 in fact) so wasn't technically late and was 9.5 weeks before I found out. I was so sick, did many many HPTs all neg and laughed at the first Dr I saw who said I was preg.

#2 - I was a week late did I think 4 HPTs all neg and then I went to the GP as I needed to know (I hate not knowing)

#3 - was day I was only a couple of days late. I was eating something strange for me so tested and voila BFP on a HPT! (nearly fell over to get a pos at home!!)

Ziggy i don't have any symptoms to speak of. Earlier in the week i had a stuffy nose (without an accompanying cold) that drove me bonkers and that has since eased off. Am still blowing my nose quite regularly but not as bad. No sore boobs, no nausea. I have put weight on around my tummy but that happens in winter :rolleyes: Sometimes i feel tiny cramps down below that aren't AF like. Spoke to DH about testing again and he said we should wait till Monday. :fingerscrossed:

Thx i hope you're right :fingerscrossed: I don't have frequent trips to the toilet and big boobs though....both very good signs for you :thumbsup: We have been trying for a similar amount of time, let that be our good luck omen!

Gotta admit i jumped on Google when i couldnt breathe through my nose earlier in the week and was smidge excited when saw it can be linked to pregnancy :o

sorry havent replied been very lazy lol
no AF yet... so im 4 days late today!!! still have the wierd mild AF type cramps...usually i get REALLY bad cramps..
my boobs are slightly sore and my nips are REALLY sore
tired... had dream other night that i got a positive... wierd....
i cant really eat cos i feel a little sick... i usually eat HEAPS lol
i did another test this morning and it was BFN!!!
oh and wet down there (TMI) lol

well AF showed up this morning with the WORST pain ever!!! i feel like my insides are being ripped out.......
but pretty devistated this isnt my month :(
but oh well im still young and lots and lots more months to try!!!

if i dont fall preg next month im getting my implanon put back in... (deal with my DF, and to do with my IBS) long story...

Hi Ladies, I was wondering if I could join this thread! I am on around day 39 ish and still dont have AF!!! Had quite a few negative HPTs and I really dont know what to think. I am not getting my hopes up though cause AF has been known to be very late (at times 4 months late) and skip cycles etc. I have been fairly regular the last few months so I hope it is not the case here or I will be very disappointed!!

This is only my 3rd regular cycle since coming off pill in January. May was 38 days, June 34 and i am at day 40 now..... Years ago before i was on pill i am pretty sure i never missed a period ever and was rarely late. To be totally honest i am not very clued up with my body :rolleyes:

WELCOME Jbelle of course you can join this thread, everybody is welcome, We all know what its like to have late af and all you can think about is being pregnant. Its just so interesting to see some of us soo late yet still getting :bfn:and then finally the :bfp:shows up later!!!

Symptoms? Hmmmm Im not sure. Im wary of saying I have symptoms because Im scared Im making them up??

BUt anyhoo, I have been feeling very tired the last few weeks, like noticeably tired- even DH has noticed. I wasnt sure if it a virus though cause my sinuses also are really blocked which is a pain in the butt.

Also been feeling really thirsty and a little nauseous. The other day I was picking up the little boy that I nanny from school and as I was just standing there I got a feeling that I was going to throw up! I just swallowed and it passed. But yeah, I dont really want to get my hopes up and look for symptoms iykwim??

Ive also been getting random throbbing/burning pains down there, like where my cervix would be

Does anyone else do a HPT and TRY to see a line on it? Like hold it in all different lights etc. lol.... trying to find false hope!

I woke up at 4.30am for a wee this morning and thought i'd better use this wee for my test and blow me down....it was a feint :bfp:!!!! OMG i think i am pregnant! :eek: It was a Crystal Clear and there was one line of dots going vertically (hard to see with morning eyes) and woke up DH as i didnt know what else to do and he could see the line too!!!!!
I am going to buy more tests after work today but its looking really good! :smiliedance:

Im now CD 35 and no pregnancy symptoms or Af symptoms... took a HPT this morning but it was :bfn:... its was a digital clearblue one and ive heard they have a really high hcg reading, but still feeling down today.

Since coming of the pill in feb my cycles have been been between 32 and 42 days long. I started charting this month and FF has me currently listed as 14DPO. The chart is almost a waste of time tho as i was sick for the first week, and drank fairly heavily the first three fri sat nights, which have given me quite high temps on sat and sundays. I never got a true positive OPK althought the got lighter and then darker with the darkest being when FF said i O'd. Maybebaby didnt give me anything.

So im confused cause i dont even know if i really did O, im still letting myself believe that i did just in case.

Well my non-pregnancy but unusal body symptoms are as follows:
I have been in a really good mood (better than normal) all last week, apart from being very up and down on friday.
i generally sleep very well, but have been restless the past two nights.
I developed an eye twitch for the last 36 hrs which i only ever had leading up to getting married (i had my four final uni assignments due the day i got back from my honeymoon... very stressful time).
I have weird sensations down there and look bloated. They arent period like cramps but feel more likely someone is tapping on my insides very lightly.

Even when i had a 42 day cycle, my boobs where sensitive by now and i had started spotting... i dont like this ttc thing! lol

i dont think AF is coming, but i dont think ill get a BFP either. i feel very torn and in limbo

oh well thats my :ecomcity:

oh and i just wanted to add... my glasses are hurting my eyes and tripping me out to look through them... as i dont wear them all the time, im actually finding it easier to not wear them for the past couple of days... all sooo strange...lol

Well it really depends on how soon you want to have a baby... I guess i would be seeing a gyno to make sure you are all good!!! It is said that twelve months is normal time for a couple to fall pregnant, so you could wait till then as well!!!

Have your cycles always been long, like even before you went on the pill?

this may sound really wierd but i still feel pregnant hahaha i think im going crazy....
the AF i had was only 2 days of spotting on and off... not normal for me... im usually 3-4 days of "normal bleeding"
still have period like pains too...
dont know whether to test again or not???

Belinda it is possible you had implantation or breakthrough bleeding.....this can happen at AF time. I think it is worth testing :yes:

Had v bad pain similar to AF but not quite the same 2 days ago, no spotting tho'.
Have been peeing loads, sometimes even twice in the nght for about a week and also sooo hot I can's sleep. mild back ache today
