I am trying to find the specific brand of soap that was on A Current Affair. I have psoriasis (sp) and my nephew has exzema so both me and SIL want to try it but its been sold out everywhere.

I have been using the billie goat soap on my dd (10 months) for a couple of weeks now. I haven't noticed any improvement in her skin. It doesn't make it worse or better, so I will be using up the bar of soap that I have but won't bother buying another one.
Sorry - it may work for some people??
Good luck.

Oh goats milk soap is great on DS and myself.
Even better - Emu oil soap if you can find it!
Yes emu oil soap is great!! I get horrible skin in winter, and it is great to use.
I get it from the emu farm on the highway at marburg, just before laidley, heading towards toowoomba,
It is called the try it emu farm, they have mail order and other products, if you google it it should come up with the website.

Thanks for all your replies, The story on A Current Affair was from billygoatsoap, but they have a 4 week waiting list. I know of another store in Victoria that sells goats milk soap from a goat farm and they are open 3 days a week, and do mail orders. But I was just interested to hear if people have actually had a good response from using the soap.
this may be an old thread but im new. i have used goats milk soap and i thought it was great. i wouldnt say it makes the eczema better but it stops it from reoccuring on my son. so i clear it up with anti-biotic cream and then i try different products.
i have never heard of billy goat soap- i just found mine in a shop that does hand made soaps. maybe even try markets. mine was $2 a bar.

Hi there,
My mum has bad psoarasis (sp?) and uses goats milk soap. She's this one Soapbricks (http://soapbricks.blogspot.com/) as these smell much nicer than billy goats soap. We have these here too and we all use it. It makes DDs skin much less dry too.

My son has really bad eczema. We were using goats milk soap but it wasnt enough for his skin. we now use Hamiltons bath iol for really dry skin. And celestone for his bad patches.
Much better

We used the billie goat soap for a bit with DS and I didnt find it anything special. I have really bad chemical sensitivity dermatitis and I love the Alchemy and Akin range of products, they have a baby range now too!
I used goats milk soap on my 6mth old,it seemed to work with a few days, he was the softest he has ever been. I think sometimes what works on one doesn't always work on another, it does nothing for my sisters ds.

I recently bought the Billy Goat milk soap and unfortunately it made my ds skin worse. Dairy is a definite trigger for his eczema and all I can think is that the goats milk aggravated his skin.
I'd read so many good reports about it that I was so hopeful it would work. So I suggest try it on a small area before covering their whole little bodies in it.
So I'm back to our usual management; QV bath oil, QV intensive moisturiser and Celestone M on his bad patches (mainly face).

I used a goats milk soap on 4yrs Daughter with disastrous results. She get's eczema very badly at times but this was a terrible reaction only help with oral prednisone (Script) and Advantan Fatty Ointment (Script). I would have hated to see her if she hadn't already been on the 24hr antihistamine.
I couldn't get the BillyGoat brand so used another from the chemist with eczema relief soap written all over it. She doesn't have any diary allergy that we have found.
She is on a Wheat, Gluten, Soya, Peanut free diet and up till then I was using QV bath oil and QV intensive balm.
Good luck to everyone, if you find anything helpful post it please. We are desperate enough to try anything. :o
I only have a suggestion for another store, Google Soapbricks, all handmade goats milk soap (she uses milk from her own goats), fantastic scents (or unscented). My DP has sensitive skin and he has never had reactions to it.
Good Luck :)

Me and my son get worse with goats milk soap.
If you are breastfeeding, make some breast milk soap. If you google you should find a recipe, or search on here as i have posted it before.

My daughter is 8 and all she uses is goats milk soap. Her eczema is rather mild and the soap works well for her followed by calendula cream but I would say for kids with bad to extreme cases I think it would be useless.
The key is to find the trigger and to keep the skin moisturised.
I think sometimes what works on one doesn't always work on another, it does nothing for my sisters ds.
BINGO. We've had lots of fun with DH's psoriasis over the years, and you tend to find that things that do work don't work forever either. So if you can find a couple of products that work and do a sort of rotation of them it might be beneficial too.
Hubby does well with Moogoo, and with most organic soaps. We're going to have to start trying things with DS now too cause I've noticed his getting it behind his ear, so who knows, maybe the nasty cradle cap he has is actually psoriasis like his daddy. Best to try and deal with it now.

Thats a great idea. If anyone in brisbane wants to try to make some I'm happy to supply the milk so that they can make it. I'd ask for a little bit of the end product at the end.

I'm not sure I'd enjoy using emu soap knowing a bird has been killed in order to supply it.
Eczema is a generic name for many types of topical skin conditions hence the varying reactions with soap. Same with psoriasis - it really depends on the severity of the condition, what type it is and how it is managed. For example, my DH manages his via his diet with good results. He uses 100% olive oil soap, again, with good results.
A lot also depends on how the soap is made and what it is mixed with. For example, Billie Goat Soap is not pure goat milk soap.
But Izy, if you want to try some (.)(.) milk soap, I'll be happy to come around for a pump-and-go session. Depending on how the batch goes, I could have them ready in about six weeks.

While on this topic, I found the YouTube article (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXVBcg4gC4k) about Billie Goat Soap.
What those children say about their parents is precious. Wow!
