Hi, My littlest one Brianna ended up in the special care nursery after a wonderful birth, because the next morning she had a "Dusky" episode or she changed color from not getting enough oxygen. Since then (she is now 4 months) she has had two chest infections and is always snuffly. Also when she sleeps her breathing is very shallow and i worry that sometimes she still isn't breathing properly. I think i am just an overreacting mum but it's something that always plays on me. My eldest one was never sick at such a young age.:confused:Anyone got any thoughts?
It's always scary when bubs needs to go into SCN. My twins were born at 32 weeks and we went to NICU and then SCN.
My two always breathed shallower than my eldest.
Have you had her reviewed by a paediatrician?
its better to be safe then sorry, you should get her checked out for your own peace

hello
has you little one been hooked up to a oxygen monitor ?
my little one has breathing problems he got hooked up to a oxygen monitor for 24 hours to see what was going on his oxygen levels go down when he sleep although he breathes really fast when he is awake it showed that his heart rate was still normal so he wasnt putting to much pressure on himself
as children normally look fine when you get to the doctors!
i went to the doctor when his breathing problems started and was reasured he was ok and still wasnt happy and got some more advice
trust your mother intuition dont feel like your over reacting it took another fresh pair of eyes to diagnose my boy its concerned you enough to ask us other mothers
hope all goes well let us know

Hi, bub was hooked up to an oxygen monitor in hospital and in the SCN, at first her oxygen level was low and then as she stayed there it improved. I am going to take yours and the others advice and get a referral for a paediatrician from my GP. Thanks Y'all:yelclap: in the mean time she still has a chest infection

Bub is probably okay but if you are really worried, buy angelcare monitor and you will have peace of mind when she sleeps. I know I wouldn't be without one even though my boy had no problems when born. It just gives me the peace of mind to go to sleep and not worry

My daughter was dianosed with sleep apnea at six weeks she needs to be on a monotor when she sleeps at all times to monotor her breathing i have never had an alarm on the angel care monotor i also used it for my son it is great and recomended by her specialist. In your case i would book your child in for a sleep or breathing studie it is done over night and it is always better to be safe than sorry in the mean time go to your local baby shop and purchase the angel care monotor.
