My 6 mnth old boy has started to leak out of his nappies all the time. It doesnt seem to matter what we do, he covers himself with you know what.

We have tried all different brands and hav had the most success with Pampers but suddenly he is wetting himself rather than his nappy.

Is it normal for a baby boy?

Hi, I know it sounds a bit dumb, but when our eldest was about 4 months she was leaking everywhere and we were told by the Mum in law that we weren't putting it on right!!! How embarrassing! however turned out she was right! When you put the nappy on you have to pull the front right up as far as it will go so that the nappy sits really high. You probably already know this but it helped with us anyway. Oh and always make sure all the frills are out around the sides.

Hi there,
With DS we went thru various stages every couple of months for the first 6 months where he would just constantly wet his clothes and not the nappy. I think looking back now that it may have been when he was sort of 'in between' nappy sizes and there would be a few weeks where he just seemed to be in between sizes?? (And this was using expensive Huggies too)
...But then again maybe it was just us not fitting the nappy properly and maybe he's stopped leaking because we are now better at putting on his nappies??? who knows:laughing:

Being a girl... I didnt know much about boys bits when i had DS... and found out he was wetting his clothes because some things needed to be facing down and centre! (If you get my drift LOL) So that was a bit of an eye opener for me... He also leaks when he is in between sizes even though he is in expensive Huggies :D Fun Fun Fun!

Not saying this is definately the case with your DS... Just giving some more ideas that can be crossed off the list?

Hope this helps?

Cant be much help, sorry... DS leaked when we tried cheaper brands so we are stuck with Huggies which is expensive but does the job well.

Can u try putting material nappy pants over the disposible? or is that bad for them? wouldnt know but maybe someone else can shed some light!

I had the exact same thing happen with my DS, but it started when he was around 4 months. I know how frustrating it is! Do you find that it is mainly at night? Well, that's what we found. DS was OK during the day as we could keep on top of changing him, but at night when he would sleep 12 hours we would wake up in the morning and find him and the cot absolutely drenched. After trying numerous things, we have found that we have to 'carefully' change his nappy just before DH and I go to bed (so around 11pm'ish) as well as put a fabric nappy cover over the top of his nappy. Now when we wake up we find his nappy is still absolutely chockers but at least it hasn't leaked.

HTH... and good luck! I hope you find a solution to your problem soon as I know how frustrating it is

DD used to get leaks everynow & then when she had HEAPS to drink. I finally got sick of it when huggies changed their nappies when she was about 18months. We switched to Mordern cloth nappies, despite me swearing i'd never use cloth as it was too much work. Discovering modern cloth showed me it was easier than i ever thought, and there are even trim itti bitti brand nappies that are pretty much as trim as a disposable. DS almost never has leaks in them, andthey are so cute!! Saves on clothes in summer too, as he just wears no pants.
