Very Very irregular cycle

Hi my AF is very irregular beofer i got pregnant last year it was coming about every12-15 months. No one has any idea what is going on! :confused: I'm just wanting to know if their is anyone else who has the same irregularity and what they did?? How did you know when to 'try'. We are jast trying as much as possible in the hope that something will happen. Any advice is great.

I am in a very similar situation ttc #2 and my periods are so irregular. My last was in mid January so i saw my GP last week for advice. He has ordered a heap of blood test checking my hormone levels amongst other things. He has also refered me to a gyno. Hopefully i will get some answers soon.

I had very irregular cycles before Andrew. It really varied a lot, and it was a bit of a lottery as to when one would show up. I had been waiting about 8 months or so for one, and I had decided that if it didn't show up by the time I got back from my honeymoon, that I would go see a doctor about it (gulp). Anyway.....I got back from my honeymoon and got caught up in work etc and decided to do a pregnancy test one day...on a 'vibe'....and voila...10 weeks pregnant.

We were hoping to be pregnant, but really, had no idea whether it would happen and rather suspected it wouldn't.

So I'm not sure now. We want more kids, I think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and visit a doc and find out whats going on inside. :o

I see an endocronoligist??(i know spelt wrong) becasue i have growth hormone deficiency(means I stopped growing at 10 but i had injections to keep growing!!Yay) and a bunch of other stuff and she was sure i wouldn't fall pregnant so when i did she said she was shocked. I guess I just hope it will happen again. For everyone who hates getting AF, iam prob insane for saying I wish i did get it every month!!! :p

I'm so glad to hear there are other females out there with irregular periods. I get my periods every 4 or so months. It's very frustrating not knowing when they will be coming.

I was TTC with DS 1 for three months then I fell pregnant, I was pretty happy because we weren't trying for long. Now we have been TTC # 2 since begining of December 05 - an no luck.

I have been getting a bit upset cause we have be trying for 5 months now and still no luck. My doctor hasn't been very helpful, he said to me I can't do much about my irregular periods but just to keep trying to fall pregnant. He told me he will do further tests in one year.

All I can suggest is keeping on trying. But if there is anyone out there with more information please let me know.

I was very irregular and didn't get my periods for 1 year and 4 months.

I found out my problem when I had a blood test and found my prolactin level was 6 times more than normal. Had CT scan and MRI and found a 2mm benign tumor in my pituiry gland. Seen an endocronologist and diagnosed what is called microprolactinoma. This makes me infertile as my brain is thiniking I don't need to ovulate thefore not making me ovulate. I was then put on medications called Dostinex to get my prolactin levels to normal and I started that Jan 06 and then finally got my periods on Feb 28 2006 and then 2 wks later conceived.
