My Aunty has given me a loooooooad of baby things, including blankets and toys. Now, she's quite a heavy smoker and as a result these things reek of smoke now. Is it as simple as chucking it in the wash and hanging on the line to get rid of the smell?

If it is, should I do the smokey stuff as a different load to the other stuff (non-smokey) stuff, or can I just chuck them all in together.

Thanks :D

I'd say chuck them in the wash, with a fair quantity of fabric softener, and line dry them.

I would put them in a separate wash to everything else though I can't see any logical reason for assuming there would be any harm in tossing them in all together ...

Wash them on their own with fabric softener (a really smelly one) and then hang them on the line in the sun. They should be fine. The fresh air and sun help to get rid of any odour and the sunlight kills any nasties pretty effectively.

Yay! I was hoping it was that easy (I would have tried first and asked later but the sun's on the other side of the house now so no sunlight for my line)

Funny thing, when Husband was smoking I never thought once about the smokey smell or how to 'rid' it.

Use Amolin liquid - a double dose - it smells beautiful and should get rid of the smell. And a double dose of fabric softener as well and line dry if you can.
