first wax, now pus...

coming out of his ear.

I will be taking DS2 to the dr tomorrow but just to see if anyone else has had this.

On Sunday morning he woke up with wax looking like it had run out of his ear, then last night I checked again and it was pus, this morning was fine but tonight it's pus again quite bad.

he isn't screaming or any different to any other day. The girl at childcare was concerned and I said do you think it's an infection and she said yeah if not a burst ear drum :eek:

wouldn't I know if it was a burst ear drum, wouldn't he be in so much pain?

Sounds like a middle ear infection.

It sounds like he has a burst ear drum...they tend to run like that when they have gotten infected and the infection has burst.

They don't always cause pain and fever - my DS has had one of his ear drums burst a couple of times, and he never got pain or fever...

Definitely needs a trip to the Dr tomorrow though...hope he feels better soon.

Definitely sounds like an infected perforated ear drum, although you say he's feeling no pain, you don't want to leave ear drums with pus etc. Definitely a trip to the Doctor, and in the meantime keep any water out of his ears. Hope he feels a lot better soon.

Sounds like a burst ear drum to me. My little brother had lots of ear infections and I remember his screaming overnight and all of us waiting for the drum to burst. Then suddenly it would burst, the ear would have some discharge and he'd be painfree again.

What did the doctor say/see?

dd has the same, waxy and pussy, and the dr said ear infection and has put her on anti biotics. how can you tell the diff between infection and burst ear drum????:confused:
