Hi,
I'm booked in to have DD at Frances Perry. Though I haven't had bubs yet, I ended up in the birthing suites because DD decided that unlike her brother who was snug until forcefully removed, that she really wanted to play funny buggers and set me contracting at 29 weeks.
We were there late on a Sunday night and the lovely midwife knew who we were as soon as I mentioned my name and they were really very nice and took good care of us. I felt much more comfortable there than I did at my previous hospy Mitcham Private because I knew that I was in the best of hands at the RWH.
It was like a ghost town though and I asked the midwife if they were quiet that night. We were apparently just around the corner from where the action was occurring (very very busy) and I didn't hear a thing even though we were there all night.
My only complaint, the parking is a rip-off.
I've also spoken to Dr Nicola Bryan who rotates with my ob Mark Umstad. She was lovely, calling me back on a weekend and reassuring me that all my tests came back okay. I'm really comfortable knowing that if my ob isn't on when bubs is arriving that Dr Bryan or Dr Jurcevic the other ob in the group who I've also seen will be taking care of me. They are a great group of doctors.
Good-luck.
I went to Francis Perry with my twins and found them to be fantastic. You'll be in the best of care there and yes the NICU at the RWH is great as is the SCN at FPH. Who's your ob?
sorry no advice - just wanted to say that I was born at Frances Perry 30+ years ago!!! :D
