It does sound like it,what are his eyes like? Are they red, what about his mouth? Generally measles starts with bubs being a bit out of sorts, runny nose cough etc and red eyes, they dont like the light....fever, small white dots in the mouth as well.

Its usually big red patches that run into each other and works its way from the forehead to the rest of the body.

I would get him to a gp when you can, it does sound alot like it thats all. Most of the time it will run its course though so his probably at the worst of it now. Hope that his ok

Thanks punk baby your always so quick to reply- one of his eyes is red( and he has been rubbing them non stop) and he has had a runny nose- the rash that started in his hair line has faded now ( was bad yesterday) but now it is covering his stomach and back and inside his nappy- the dr doesnt open til 9 and i dont think it is urgent enough to call a locum.
it sounds bad but i hope it is measles at least then i know he has been so irratible for a reason the last few days. i thought measles was eradicated in AUS????- we were around lots of kids(all babies most under immunisation age) on wednesday im feeling pretty guilty i thought he was just grumpy coz he is teething.

How old is he? Just a thought with the 12 month MMR vax they get a similiar sort of outbreak, but not as severe generally about 2 weeks after the shots.

Usually its about ten days before the signs appear when they get infected so think back a week or so ago :)

Hope you get into your gp, i am sure he will be fine though just try keep him comfy and i hope his better soon

he is only 6 months- im so worried he has infected other babies( we were at a lunch with the midwifes that delivered him so there were about 50 babies there) we were house bond last 2 weeks coz it was school holidays here in sa and i dont drive so didnt fancy taking three kids out on the bus.

it doesnt look like spots its more like blotches well one big blotch coz it seems to just be spreading into its self

hurry up 9am
