Just wondering if mums could share their experiences of Gymbaroo with me as I have a 15 month old girl and have absoloutely no idea what its about. All I know is that the classes last for about 45 mins but Id really like to know more, the site didnt help me out much.
Thanks

I ahve been taking mt daughter for over a year, she is 2 1/2 and she loves it, they have 2 areas, one has play equipment and hey play for 10-15 minutes, they they go into other room and do singing dancing, co-ordination exercises and then go play agoian then backin, each term is a topic, this term is food so each week is a different food, they get to play with it and they do usually get to play with an instrument like shakers, my daughter really enjoys it i think it is great for coordination and ag reat way to meet other mums

I found it expensive for what it was and found my then 10 months old DD had no attention span for the song and dance bit and was forever chasing her and bringing her back to the circle where she didn't want to be!!
I found playgroup to be cheaper and more flexible..
in saying all that though i would still take her if i could afford to because i and she both liked the gym part of it
My DS is 14 months and we have just started again (we went when he was <6 months and he got nothing form it). He loves it now.
Mum2Tyla has described it really well I think.
Last week we went and the instructor got us to show the bubs' how to put a ping pong ball into a piece of pvc pipe.
DS grasped that really well and when we got home he worked out how put some shapes in the Tupperware Shape-O.
DS really loves the parachute - you lay them on their backs and waft a brightly coloured parachute above them.
But it is hard to keep their attention. DS keeps walking off to see the other kids or up to the instructor.

I think its fantastic not just for your bub but also for you! I've made a couple of really good mum friends there and we now catch up outside of gymbaroo.
The classes are pretty action packed and at 14months they'd be doing some craft (with you), followed by singing/music/dancing and then free play on the gym equipment (with you). The gym equipment is great for showing you how to strengthen certain parts of their body and help them learn co-ordination.
If you give them a call, they always have open days at the start of the term, take your bub in and see if you like it. I highly recomend it

Im almost convinced now! I just havent looked into prices yet. What would I be up for per term if I went say once a week? how many times a week do people suggest I take my 15 month old girl we go to playgroup once a week at the moment.
Ive had a look at their morning timetable my girl normally has a morning nap when their session sort of ends shed be a little late for that but I dont think that would cause many dramas. Just need to know prices now.

:iagree: What she said. I took DS for 1 year before DD was born. During the group/music time he would just run around everywhere and not concentrate on anything. Our lessons were on the exxy side $16/lesson from memory. A friend went to Gymbaroo in another town where they were about $11/lesson. For what we got out of it, it just wasn't worth it for us. Kindergym is a better option for us - combined age groups, longer lesson & about half the price
