My dd is nearly 11 months old. She sleeps through some nights, wakes some nights if cold/hot or wet/soiled.
But she wets the bed most nights, if she sleeps for 5-10 hours without a nappy change. I have been waking her up two-three times a night the last week, as i am sick of changing her clothes and bedsheets every night and she gets freezing in the meanwhile and it takes about 30 minutes, not good when have to go to work the next day.
I have adopted the double nappy trick in the last month or so and have even tried the liners/pads in the nappy too. I do them up snug, but not overly tight to hurt her belly.
She will not necessarily wake up if she is saturated, or waits till she is really wet, when she prob needed to be changed 2-3 hours prior.
Any tips or suggestions, as i am so tired over the last month due to extended time caring for her during the night, i thought it was wonderful no night feeds and sleeping through but all of a sudden this leaking nappy stuff, have tried all differenct brands of nappies, usually use Huggies or Supreme (TOYS R US), i don't like the Aldi ones.
Help, i need sleep and less washing. Grrr..... Sorry i'l stop whinging. Thanks for listening.:hair:

I am having the exact same problem at the moment with my 15 month DD, although I was using babylove or cosifits which are quite cheapo nappies :). I have just recently gone back to huggies for night time (I use cloth in the day) which worked well last night. I just wanted to suggest using a Cloth nappy cover such as tots bots or baby beehinds over the top of the nappy. This can stop it leaking through and saves the cost of two nappies at once. HTH

Thanks Pinky81.
Hey funny thing, my dd didn't leak at all last night for the first time in ages and she had no nappy change, nappy on 7.30pm, didn't change till 5 am when she stirred an wasn't very wet either, she did only drink half her bottle and eat half her dinner last night though - was a bit worried, but seems fine today. sleeping at the moment, the gorgeous little monkey that she is.
I was thinking of buying some waterproof nappy covers, was just worried about nappy rash. Will have to look into it, i think. Thanks again.

Just wanted to let you know that DD has very sensitive skin (and bad eczema) and I have never had a problem with nappy rash due to the covers. So could be worth a try? These Pul covers are made especially (sp?) to be breathable (and are super cute to!!:))

You could try a Cloth night nappy they are just about the only thing that work for my little man.
Or you could put a sposie on with a wool cover, I find the wool covers are better for over night. Compared to a PUL one.

Thanks girls, these sound great. I might lash out and buy the wool one for nights. Sounds Exp, but worht it imo.i couldn't see any price for what they called the booster for heavy wetters at night, which i think she must be. Have either of you bought these or know how much they cost? Also how much is delivery if you don't spend the $150. No stockists near me.

if you have such a heavy wetter on your hand the baby beehinds wont last either. my DS out pees those in a blink of an eye.
sound like you need a cloth night nappy
something like a wild child dreamy nights, or a good night sleep tight for heavy wetters. teamed will a wool cover you should be right with those.

i agree with the trying a night cloth nappy, my DS was using the Aldi nappies at night for a while and he is a super wetter and they were lasting just. now we use a krap katcher cloth night nappy and not one leak in the 2+ months we have had them! good thing about them is you can boost and boost and boost them till the cows come home..
what is it about the Aldis you dont like? they may work at night, if your not keen on cloth. also id suggest some longies or woolies :D

There are a few different night nappies. We use a Sandman and have no probs. MCNs for night are a bit more expensive than day MCN because they're made with more layers of absorbent fabric but they really are worth it. We have 4 night nappies & I try to wash every 3 days or every 2nd day if it's raining.

this is not a solution to the leaky nappies - my ds wakes -2-3 times a week wet....
however polar fleece is a great bed saver - he sleeps in a fleece sleeping bag and the wet seems to remain contained in the bag - never wet sheets - so maybe think about trying a fleece bag, or making some fleece covers to go over the nappies - or even just try putting a layer of fleece between your DD and the sheets? may minimise the change to only 5 mins as opposed to 30min?
as i said not a solution to the leaky nappy but might be enough short term to give you your sanity back!

DS is a huge wetter, and I have tried so many different things to help keep him dry overnight.
I have finally found a solution. I just use his normal nappy, and put a pull up over the top. Works wonders, and hasn't failed me yet!:smiliedance:

I just went the next size nappy up at night.
Now DS is on walkers, occasionally i'll put a plastic cover thingy over his nappy so it stops his clothes getting wet - but I hate the marks it leaves on him.

The only nappies that don't leak on my boys over night are either Huggies, Homebrand, Woolies brand or you'll love coles brand. However we have just swapped to using cloth at night times too and haven't had a leak at all.
