Hello, I'm new here and I have a question...
I took a Crystal Clear +/- pg test today, and a line came up at about 5 minutes I think, but it was very faint. I thought yay! +++. Now I'm wondering if it's an evap??? The line has gotten a wee bit darker since I saw it (hours later) but it's still too faint to see if it's got colour or not.
Anyone have any experience with these? Are they prone to evaps? Could it be that I'm pregnant?
I can see the line from an arms length away too - can you see evaps from that far away???

Hi bec,I have used those hpt's before and have been negative. In my experience with those ones they don't normally give an evap line. If it was faint i would do another one in the morning with fmu and see how that goes. Maybe it is early therefore giving a faint line.....good luck to you.:fingerscrossed:

Woohoo thank you :yelclap:
Anyone else? Does anyone disagree? I hope it's not an evap!!!! :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

I dont think it would be an evaporation line - particularly not after 5 minutes! Also with an evap line you have to really squint to see it iykwim. I think Congratulaions are in Order!!!!!! Yippee!! :smiliedance:

I used the Crystal Clear test too and got a faint time the first time - and I am definitely pregnant! Prob best as others have said to re-test in the morning or in a couple of days time.

Morning girls,
Well I tested this am, but I didn't use my last Crystal Clear because I only have one left and because hcg doubles every other day, I figured it wouldn't be any darker this morning - so I tested with a fortel extra. Nothing - nadda -zippo! :(
Maybe that line on the Crystal Clear (well both the CC tests I did have lines) were flukes or something and I'm not really pg.
Thank you for all the replies.
Edited to add - I've finally been able to get a good pic of one of the tests - can you see it???

Goodmorning, that pic looks like a positive to me. I have heard bad reports about fortel i don't think they are as sensitive as they say. I wouldn't discount being pregnant just yet, maybe use your other crystal clear in the morning. Good luck:thumbsup: :fingerscrossed:

Well, I caved and did the other Crystal Clear - a faint line appeared at 6/7 minutes. DHTB got paid today, so I'm gonna buy another 2 pack but I thought I'd just let you all know - it's extremely faint, but if you pull the test apart and look at it from behind you can clearly see the line :D
I just wanted to say thank you to all you lovely ladies that have replied to me. I am a member of FF, and none of the ladies there have been very encouraging at all, neither have the ladies on **********, so I'm planning on sticking around here for awhile, where I felt welcome almost instantly - pregnant or not. And it's nice to chat to Aussies about TTC, instead of people everywhere else in the world.
Bec
good luck Jessykasmum! hope you get the BFP soon, Id just give it another day or so and try again.
the waiting time is just so hard isnt it?! Im also waiting (due for me AF any day now) I really cant tell if i am preg. or not yet? have had some symptoms but they also seem like AF symptoms to me so i am just waiting and doing my head in big time! :banghead:
Also, I have read too that the fortel are not very good. Its actually all I have been using so I may try the clear blue packs and see how I go? I have heard they are very good with accuracy.
Good Luck let us know how you go :fingerscrossed:

I didnt have much luck with the fortel myself. I switched to discovey - one step. Definitely my fav - the lines are a pink colour which makes it easier to distinguish betwen a pos+ and an evap line. Whith the fortel, the lines are purple and a very feint lilac/grey in the early days which can be confused with an evap line IMO. The discovery worked straight away and I saw a lovely pink line!!

It's positive - my gp only did a pg test as a formality after i had a positive home test!!! She said u don't get false positives!!!!

Hello girls - you all must be getting sick of me by now, but I have another Q??
The horizontal line in the test window on t he CC has become alot lighter, like barely there light - is this normal???
Bec
Hey Bec!
I can't help you with your questions but I just wanted to wish you luck! I'm TTC #3 at the moment and I've started using CC as well, though the last was a BFN, so I have:fingerscrossed: for this month!!!
:hugs:

Yes, we're TTC #3, Lachie is only 6 months old but we want them close together. I'm hating all this waiting and not knowing - I took a discover one step today - BFN!!! I wish I just knew, I'm starting to doubt the lines on the CC's but three of the, all evaps??????? I just dunno.. GL with this month, what dpo are you?
I'm only CD8, so I should O over the weekend some time. We're trying for a girl (though another boy really wouldn't matter that much...) so it's all a matter of timing for us.
Bugger about the Discover.. I know what you mean about the wait, I was 4 days late this month and nearly drove myself nuts! And the girls in the TTC in April thread, they all probably thought I was nuts too!!
Jessykasmum
25-04-2006, 18:12
I'm starting to think I'm nuts - and so is DHTB :)
We have a TTC in April thread and a TTC in May thread, you're more than welcome to come and join us nuts in those threads if you like;)
I find as the months go by the more preggie symptoms I 'talk' myself into having. Each month I say I'm not going to even consider being preggie till I'm late... but I'm not that strong:p
I can't remember what brand test I used but it looked negative and I threw it in the bin. I checked it again later and there was a very faint line. You're not supposed to read these tests so long after you've used them but I'm now 11 weeks pregnant!
Good luck

Flib that is great, My sister-in-law did the same as you and she is also pregnant due on the 18-nov-06, I noticed your kids birthdays , this that right you had them on the same day 4 years apart, that is very clever:) My two are also 4 years apart 23/06/2000 and 19/08/2004, and TTC #3:fingerscrossed:
Hi Bec!! Good luck with the testing and retesting I'm hoping the lines darken for you
I was cruising around the net today and found some info that may help you choose the right HPK for you:
25 mIU at 10 dpo
20 mIU at 12 dpo
100 mIU at 14 dpo
HCg levels double every 2 days
Most test should correspond, hopefully now it might be easier to find the right one and when you do can you let us know:p

Jessykasmum - I'm sorry to hear AF arrived :(
I am also sorry to hear you found the replies on ********** to be discouraging, I actually had a look through the posts and found them very supportive? They have even posted since asking how you are going with testing.

I was thinking that a couple of days ago that my face had broken out in a couple and said hmmmmm thats a sign....... only time will tell i guess i am getting realllllllyyyy nervous about testing. :fingerscrossed: for both of us.

I used the crystal clear +/- test and it dosent matter how dark or light the plus sign is. If its a plus then its positive - mine was so faint i had to hold it up to the light to see whether I was imagining it or not. I did another the next day and it got a little darker. Now Im 24 weeks pregnant.
