I am looking to take my son who is 8.5mths to kindergym but would like to ask other mums if they have thought it is worth it?

my son is crawling, climbing and walking on furniture.

We've gone to Gymbaroo in Perth for 2 sessions, about 20 weeks I think. Chloe's not been as much of a climber as it sounds like Ethan is, but she definitely loves going and it's given her some challenges. I think I may get as much out of it as she does. She's my first and I don't go to a mum's group so Gymbaroo has given me a better idea of her development and what she can be trying and doing. I'd never have put her on a ladder so soon! (She still tries to put her feet through the rungs while other kids scamper up, oh well.) New songs and games we learn come home too and that's a help.

You could maybe try a single session at an indoor commercial play gym and see how he likes it? I know there's one in Joondalup near us that I've taken Chloe to on rainy days when she needs to burn energy.

i have taken ethan to an indoor playcafe, with things like ramps and ballpits and he loves it there...

he also used to love a baby playgroup we used to attend but we have moved and there is no playgroup for his age up here, hense the reason i am looking in to kindergym insted...

We do kindergym but here in Qld it starts at 2. I think they have something for younger children as well. It is great, my girls love it. The PYC and Ys run classes they are cheaper than stuff like gymboree. They usually play on the equipment, then there is a structured music/dance component and then more free play plus some gymnastic learning such as rolling or turning on the beam.

We started when he was walking. You can always do a trial lesson to see how he copes. Just call your local branch to book one - they will have no problems with a trial.
