My 10mth old DD is about to start Daycare next week and i have to provide her food. Lunch is ok as i will just give her what she has at home but i am stuck for ideas for morning/afternoon tea. Normally at home she will have some fruit and yoghurt. Does anyone have any ideas of what i can pack for her?

fruit and yoghurt are good.
Fruit salad
Crackers and cheese
Saltanas and dried apricots
Crispbread biscuits with vegemite
Lightly steamed vege sticks (zuchini, carrot, potato)
custard
Hmmmm can't think of any more but i'll be back if i do....

I would give her some pureed fruit in a container and get them to put it in the fridge when she gets there. You could also give the daycare some yoghurts for them to keep in their fridge. Also I know my daughters daycare sometimes give her vegemite sandwiches for her morning tea. Are you sure you need to supply the food? My daughters daycare supplies this for her as a part of the cost.

EvangleinaOne i was hoping they would provide food especially for the $90 per day we are paying but unfortunately no we need to supply the food. Thanks for the ideas though they are great.

Cobey gets muesli bar, fruit, yogurt, rice wheels and cruskits with vegemite and cheese spread... (generally has the sweets for morning tea and the savouries for afternoon tea)

:no: It is so hard to find good long daycare. For $90 per day you should definitely be getting more for your money. Makes me mad to see places like this ripping people off.:banghead::hair:
My DD goes to full time long day care in Sydney City and we pay $80 per day. She gets all of her food, nappies & they supply and clean the sheets for her cot. They will also clean her clothes if they get dirty. They also have a high staff ratio.
Have you thought about putting her name down at another centre for when a position becomes available. One that will do all of this for you. Will make your life easier.
Try steaming some apples and pears up on Sundays and then popping them in the freezer for the week so you can grab and go.

 I can't belive they charge you that per day and DON'T provide meals. I'll appreciate our DC a lot more now.
In the baby room for M/ATea they often have:
cereal
Rice/Corn Crispbreads
muffins
Fruit (sliced and pureed)
yogurt
custard
toast
Hope some of these help,
Lisa
