I'm thinking about buying a couple of kissaluv contours and fitted nappies for the first few weeks when bubs is still very small. Has anyone tried these on a brand new itty bitty baby? My other thought was bamboo prefolds and covers. Can someone recommend a site where i could buy them from? Any other thoughts on what works best on newborns before they fit into GK's, BBH etc would be much appreciated.:o

Yep, i think prefolds and covers are the way to go. I know a WAHM who just did a good deal for a friend on bamboo prefolds and covers if you want her details please PM me.

Not sure on the kissaluv's sorry!

the easiest thing I have learnt to do around here is google!! Prefolds are like old fashioned flat nappies except the have extra layers in the middle. They are not folded or pinned like old nappies, you fold them into a rectangle, place them in a cover and put them on the bub.

I havent explained it properly but that is the general idea......;)

Basically with prefolds they are already rectangular, so you fold the front bit in 3 and that goes between their legs and the back stays flat. You can snappi them on or you can just lay them inside a good cover.

I haven't actually used the kissaluv contours, but I did buy some in anticipation of using them but when I got them they looked lovely but not very absorbant. So I returned them to the shop and now havve a stash of cotton prefolds which I can boost with bamboo boosters if needed.

I'm due in 4 weeks and plan to use mostly prefolds in the first weeks along with some Cute tooshies fitteds which are pretty small. Can't wait!
