View Full Version : What do you weigh??

I know I have always had issues with my body image. I still do. But I am wondering, out of my own curiosity (and perhaps it is inappropriate?), how tall you are and what you weigh - and what you WANT to weigh/look like. Thought it might help me keep things in perspective.

I am 175cm and 63-64kg. I want to be 60kg.

I am good at dieting and losing weight. I am also very good at over-eating and gaining weight. I am not very good at maintaining my weight. THAT is the ultimate goal for me!

I'm 160cm and 60kg. I'd like to be 55kg. But it's not actually the weight that bothers me, but that I know I am currently not fit. I tire easily even walking up a hill and can't carry my DD for very long. so that's what I want to fix & the weight will do what it needs to.

I'm 168cm and 76kg

I wish that I was 68kg although after years of disliking my body finally I feel like I'm looking good (well today I feel this way) I was lighter not so long ago and I felt that I just looked empty... but now that i look back maybe my body was empty of emotions and love (from me) ...

If you wanna see what that weight and height looks like I have picture on the weight lose section thread is called - what 10kg lighter looks like on me -

hope this helps...

I'm 157cm and currently 65kg. I'm not happy with that as I got to 60kg about 12 months ago and stayed at it for ages. But living in another country and climate has impacted that. I still exercise but can't run 10kms 3 times a week like I used to. I get frustrated that I have size 10 stuff that felt so comfortable and now lots of it doesn't fit.

But, I have found that as long as I exercise, I feel more toned and happier with my body than if I do nothing and stress about it.

A clue as to why you are not good at maintaining it when you lose weight is because you diet! It's not about going on a diet and then going off it - that WILL make you gain it again. You have to change the way you eat permanently rather than just restrict yourself for a time. But I guess you know all that.

I'm 157.5 cms (gotta get in that half a centimetre :D), and I currently weigh 49kgs. Last year before I had DS I was 45kgs. My heaviest was when pg with DS, weighed myself at 38 weeks and I was 61kgs. My obs tried to crack a joke and say you've probably never seen 60kgs, I laughed and said I've never seen 50kgs LOL. Thankfully within 6 weeks of having DS I got back down to around 52kgs, and have since lost another coupla kgs. Now I probably wouldn't want to get down to 45kgs again (my friends and family say I look much better now than before), but man, I hate these 'jiggly' bits that I have now thanks to DS, especially around the middle . So yeah, don't necessarily want to lose any weight but I'd love to lose the jiggly bits and tone up

You raise a really good question! I think the media has sold us 'image' so much which is sad. I like to think it's more the person I am than how others perceive me (but hey, I still have some vanity!;)) Also other people don't help, cos when we loose weight they comment 'don't you look well/great' etc. Like when we carried some extra kgs we weren't well or still a great person??

One thing to remember is, our bodies do change - as we have children and as we age. We can't have our bodies we had at 16 or 21 or whatever. It rarely works like that. I can't believe I was 47kg till I was 30! I was just always skinny. Now I think it would be very unhealthy to be that weight.

Also, my chinese medicine Dr told me last year when I got to about 60kgs not to loose anymore weight (I wasn't trying, turns out I was sick) as when we are too thin we loose our vitality - that means your body is drawing on itself to maintain it self. Not healthy, especially in the long run.

I also think it is interesting to note that we come in all shapes and sizes!:sunshine:

I'm going to upset the apple cart here. I'm 182cm and weigh 51k at the moment. I've always been thin, struggled to put ON weight and I hate it.

I'm seeing a dietician and the first step is to reach 54k which I used to be but I would love to get to 60K which is the lowest healthy weight for my height, bit hard when you have a very low appetite but I'm struggling on. Am I the only person who wants to gain weight? :(

I am 173cm and 70kg.

I think we all place too much emphasis on weight. What a lot of people don't think about is how we all have different body structures, bones, shapes, etc.
If someone is very small framed, then 50kg is fine for them, but I know I could never be under 65, I'd look sickly. I am medium build/ athletic.

There is too much pressure on us women to be everything, but sometimes you have to take a step back and really evaluate based on the above. How clothes fit, etc. :)

I reckon those charts are way off. My husband, according to those weight/ chart/ BMI charts, is morbidly obese too, and no way is he that . OK, he might be a lil' bit on the 'chunky' side :D, but never in a million years would anyone look at him and think morbidly obese. So I wouldn't let those charts get you down IYKWIM :).

No surgery, just lots of water, exercise and trying to eat well. I fall off the wagon many times (I ate 6 snickers cookies this morning and felt sick ) but I don't beat myself up over it.

I don't have much saggy baggy skin because I have lost it over a long period of time. Much healthier to do it that way

I think this may be a body image disorder. :hugs:
Not to label you or anything, but, if you weigh 50kgs and are 5'9ft-179cms tall, your BMI would be 16. That is underweight.
Not that I'm all for the body mass index, it does make some sense.
If you think you need to lose more weight, I would consider seeing a professional.

The dreary melbourne weather doesn't help with motivation though. I have an awesome treadmill sitting in the garage gathering dust. I should just do it. Okay I'm doing it tonight. I wish I had someone to, like, threaten me with violence if I don't go and do it... haha.

I've seen pics of you chelle, at a hooters thingo and another one recently, you don't look overweight to me?

I know, people are often surprised when I tell them my actual weight. I hide it pretty well. Some is illusion, some is just where I carry my weight. I dress to emphasise the thin bits. I have very small forearms, wrists and hands so I make sure I wear tops that show this. I have a small waist and big boobs, so I wear tight tops with a v or scoop neck to show it. And I wear suck in pants under my pencil skirts to smooth it all out. People are often too busy looking at my boobs to notice how big my a** is

I'm 168cm and 77kg and 20 weeks pregnant. I have suffered from an eating disorder for over 10 years and its horrible. I'm getting to the stage where i can see my body for the amazing thing it is despite its flaws. I just find it sad that everyones got a goal weight but not a goal in relation to health or happiness.
Cheers

I get ya! My *** could have it's own postcode but I usually hide it well. If you show nice boobies people don't see anything else anyway.

I am 170cm and 64kg. I've been very sick over the past year and got down to 61kg for a while. It was a good lesson for me - 61kg is too skinny for my frame. I am broad shouldered - the pointy bones on the end of my shoulders(where it meets your arm) were poking out, along with my collarbones (which are fairly prominent anyway). My arms were like sticks. It looked BAD BAD BAD!!!! This was around Christmas time last year. Looking back at the photos I cringe - I looked like a very thin sick person. I guess my message for anyone who's wondering about height to weight ratios...it all depends on you as an individual, your frame/body shape etc. I couldn't wait to get back to 64kg and am so glad that I finally have :yelclap:

Ok... I am now down to pretty much my goal weight - 61kg :yelclap: at 175cm. That is about 10kg lighter after DS2 than when I got pregnant with DS1 so I'm pretty pleased about that .

Hmm... body bits don't quite look the same  but my DH doesn't care and no-one else is gonna see 'em!! Have managed to stay at this weight for a month now without too much effort. Am back at work 3 days a week so my exercise is suffering - but doesn't seem to make too much difference to my weight which is great :).

Am glad to not be dieting anymore!!!!

I think I am roughly 165 cms and 83kg.
I was about 76kg before DD was born (15 months ago now!!) and I would like to get down to 69kg for my wedding in April. The lightest I have gotten to pre baby is 71kg and I was pretty happy there. I don't want to be super skinny just comfortable in my skin/clothes which I am definately not atm.
:fingerscrossed:
You sound very similar to me..I'm 164 cm and about 82-83kg.. I have always sat at around 73 or so until the year I got married and started nursing and then the weight crept on. It doesn't help that DH is so skinny and eats lots of junk and I so too!!But thats really just another excuse for me.
The lightest I have been is 62kg. Which doesn't sound that small for someone my average height but I still had 12DD boobs at that height and it was small for me! I lost a lot of weight 6 mths after my DS1 was born, I was a single mum at uni fulltime and working part time and became very depressed and would :barf: a lot. :( But now that I'm happy I'm 20kg heavier!
I know I have to do something about my weight, I desperately want to get pregnant again and I'm not sure which to do first. I also like chocolate too much....:o

Pre-pregnancy I was 43kg at 155cm. I was really happy with my weight, I have a really slight frame so I wasn't too thin but I was very conscious of what and how much I ate as I was a bit on the larger side when I was growing up. Since being pregnant that has gone out the window! I'm definately making the most of eating for two as I do feel guilty if I skip a meal or don't eat enough. I'm at 54kgs now and 31 weeks so I think I still have a bit of weight to gain. It is starting to get me down when I see how much weight I've put on in the face and thighs. I don't think I'll ever be able to get back to my pre pregnancy weight but I'm hoping I'll atleast be able to be happy with my body!

I am 162 cm and before I was pregnant I weighed 52ish or so... That was fine. Haven't really gained excess weight (I am 15 and a half weeks) - just have a HUGE belly :D I don't know what I weigh now - don't care either. I would rather worry about my baby :goodvibes:

Im about 5'9 and weigh 50kg... not happy with this weight, at my heaviest atm! Apart from when pregnant with DD i managed to get up to 65kg - i dont know about anyone else, but it scared the hell out of me! Of course i wanted to be absolutly healthy for my babies sake, but i just couldnt bare to look at the scales! Didnt help with the ALL day and night sickness for 9months!
I just dont think i see what everyone else sees... anyone else have this problem??

I have to say WOW!!! There is no way even if you hit 65kg that you are overweight

I am 175cm and weigh 71kg and am a healthy size 12, being 50kg for me would be totally underweight. I hope you can learn to be happy with how you are as I'm sure you are far from being overweight :hugs:

I am 173cm and 70kg.

I think we all place too much emphasis on weight. What a lot of people don't think about is how we all have different body structures, bones, shapes, etc.
If someone is very small framed, then 50kg is fine for them, but I know I could never be under 65, I'd look sickly. I am medium build/ athletic.

There is too much pressure on us women to be everything, but sometimes you have to take a step back and really evaluate based on the above. How clothes fit, etc. :)

Like me  If I ever fell under 65kg, I would look just plain wrong.
