My DD is 14 months old. She eats her wheatbix in the morning, loves yoghurt and fruit, cheese and toasted sandwiches. But come dinner time - she refuses almost everything (unless it is one of the above stated foods)
I really am so so frustrated, as I have tried so much. I end up making three meals at nighttime! I am also a bit worried that she is not eating any meat or veges.
I have tried patties, sausage rolls, spag bol, fish fingers, zuccini slice. You name it....
Please please PLEASE can someone give me advice? At food suggestions? :hair:
Don't stress they all go through at some stage. She can live well on those fall back foods. Try adding a vitamin if you can. She will eat when she hungry. Hope this helps :)
my DS was the same, he lived on toast, banana's, sausages, rissoles and sammies for mths and mths on end, I got him some vitamins to make sure he got what was needed, and also I gave him a little bit of toddler milk (when I didnt' give him vitamins)
it wasn't till he was nearly 3 before he started eating dinner (well vege's) but he did start to eat more fruit and bit and peices well before he was 3,
its a pain in the **** faze they go through

The main thing I can suggest is not to make a big deal of it. Just put dinner on the table and maybe include something that you know she will eat. I have found if I ask them to have 1 or 2 spoons of the dinner then they definately wont touch it. So dinner just goes on the table and if they eat it then thats good.
My girls are all still fussy but they don't get a different meal. But if we are having something that I know they wont touch like spagetti bolognaise then I will only put a little bit of the meat/sauce on their plate. I don't actually cook another meal but I will add things that they will eat on their plate. That way I know they will eat something.
My girls prefer bland or plain foods. They like sausages and barbeque/baked chicken, plain pasta or rice. And their absolute favourite is corned silverside. They all ate more than me last night!! They wont eat vegies but will eat cucumber and capsicum. One also likes mashed pumpkin and the other mashed potato but neither will eat it baked etc.

My ds1 was the same, would eat anything except his evening meal. I worked out he was just too tired:yes:
I started giving him his hot meal at about 11am and then he could have whatever he wanted for tea = banana sandwich etc. It did improve somewhat.
I was still having to do this until he was about 3. Then he slowly started showing interest in the evening meal.
