My almost 6 month old DD has never been a great sleeper. she wakes often at night and only sleeps for 40 minute lots (if im lucky) during the day. Until recently she has always gone down easily after her nightime routine- breast, bath, breast, bed. She would go down without a fuss and sleep solidly for the next 4 hours. The past week, however, she has started to take ages to go down, feeding a lot longer (just sucking though, i suspect) then waking up as soon as she goes into the cot and thinking its playtime. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? I have noticed this past week she also seems a lot more alert, and has been refusing the breast occasionally i think because she is getting distracted by other things. Is this some kind of milestone and is anyone else experiencing it? I am soooo p*ssed that my precious 4 hours peace and quiet is getting shorter every night....proper sleep is a distant but glorious memory...
