I'm thinking of giving MJ her bath/shower in the morning instead of at night as its getting really cold here of an afternoon.

My question is, when would you recommend it ie time? Before or after breakfast.

ATM she wakes & has a bf around 5.30-6am & cereal/toast between 7-7.30am. Her sleep is approx 8.30am for 40-90mins (if i'm lucky).

Any ideas or experiences you can share please?

Thanks

Hmmmm I would make that decision based on the amount of breakfast that ends up on child and clothes!!! Vallerie has showers in the morning (but obviously she's much older than MJ) and we have breakfast first, or else I end up stressing about weetbix on her nice clean clothes. And after breakfast her face and hands need washing anyway.

i dont think theres anything wrong with morning baths. i used to do that with elise when she was younger as she was born in may and by night it was to cold for her to have baths in the evening!! she would scream at every bath time!! i agree with the depending on how messy of an eater she is too. id say just before her nap would be a great time as she'd be fresh and happy and hopefully ready for her sleep :fingerscrossed: good luck in what u decide on!! :hugs:

Thanks guys, good point about the dirty clothes :o

tanni_83 our girls must be around the same age, MJ will be 1yo on the 18th May :smiliedance: We used to bath her in the morning, but as it got warmer we switched to evenings.

Thanks again :hugs:

I'd definitely give her the bath after breakfast - it also gives you the opportunity to experiment with breakfast foods and self-feeding, as you can always pop her in the bath afterwards - and dang the mess!!

I bathe my daughter after breakfast...but I guess that's because my little one wakes up hungry for her bottle.

She's only 9 months old...she has a bottle when she gets up, then 3 meals, then a bottle before bed.

I'd go with whatever everyone else is suggesting - I've started givingbaths after dinner though because DD thinks it's great to put her food out of her mouth and rub it into her hair...*sigh*.

We have breakfast together and then E has a bath while I have a shower, or she comes in the shower with me if that's what she wants. I actually ask her and usually she says she wants bubbles in the bath!!

I used to do the night time bath but with the cranky pants coming on after about 5pm and getting dinner ready etc etc, we changed to mornings and we're both more relaxed!

I've always bathed DD in the morning so she is fresh for the day ahead (but she's only 2 mths old so not sure what we'll do when she's older). Like razzle said, I prefer to have her enjoy bath time than do it when she cranky (this can be anywhere from 4pm to 11pm!)
