This is TMI I know but I was wondering if anyone has heard that saliva kills sperm? It says this on the pre seed lubricant info pack. Has anyone had trouble using saliva as a lube? Sorry if this is TMI but was wondering as on web sites I have read saw one person say saliva worked for them and other reports say it kills sperm.:confused::confused:

Stick to pre-seed!

saliva is certainly not the best lubricant.

It doesnt always kill sperm, but if you are having any kind of issues conceiving then it certainly doesnt help.

If you are having issues - stick to pre-seed. Is the only lube on the market developed to be neutral for sperm......

Thanks! Its terrible, its one of those questions you dont want to ask your gynae know what I mean? Its just telling DH this he doesnt believe me and sais thats **** and that if one person said it works then it does! Have to get him out of that thinking! Thanks for the input to my question it was a hard one to ask.. Am willing to try ANYTHING to concieve its been over a year now and have just had a LAP/HYSTY done which found some endometriosis which I never knew I had as I don't get bad pain that time of month so that was a shock so we are in cycle #2 post that so :fingerscrossed: it will be soon! Ive heard this too, HOWEVER..the 3 times that me and dp DTD on the cycle we concieved uhm well lets just say we didnt dtd straight away iykwim ;)

Off track ive also heard that a girl being on top isnt good as the swimmers cant make it up there or whatever and you should be doing it on your back, but once again, we proved that theory wrong too

Anyways, just wanted to add my 2cents worth, Good luck in your ttc journey :babydust2:

:fingerscrossed: for you.

I had been ttc for 3 + 1/2 yrs when I had a lap - they found quite severe endometriosis .... they cleared it but told me I had scarring and stuff and would need IVF.

I fell pregnant naturally 3 months after the lap (while waiting for my IVF appointment) :D

The 'window' of 3-6 months after a lap is a time when you are most likely to conceive - especially if you have endo which they cleared.

Definately stick to pre-seed though....

Good luck

I wasn't aware of this information about saliva so I did some googling and found that saliva creates a barrier to sperm, it doesn't necessary kill it but it doesn't help it either!
I'm glad you asked that question because I really wasn't aware and you learn something everyday LOL!!

no worries.

I did a fair amount of research about endo after my first lap - and the success rates naturally after a lap where they found no other problems are really really good.

Best of luck
