As you all know im new to here and was interested to know if any of you are TTC or have gotten pregnant without all of this charting business?
I know it has to be done alot of the time and it does help.
I am starting to chart and am just thinking about how much work it is and it's starting to stress me out!
I know we all wish it could happen straight away but just interested in finding out those of you who have fallen pregnant without doing all of that stuff or who are trying now?
Sorry if ive repeated myself but i think u get the drift! hehe :)

When we got pregnant with DD we didnt even no what OVULATION was!! We just figured the amount we have sex we'd be pregnant in no time. Id heard of people taking their temp to no when to have sex but didnt understand why. We got pregnant the first month!
This time round we have been trying for 8months now & i really didnt want to chart or use OPks, it seemed, like you said, alot of stress & work. We figured because we have sex everyday anyway it would happen pretty quickly but it hasnt so now Im charting :(
But a lot of people. Most I would think get pregnant without charting. Charting just gives you better odds as you know when your most fertile time is.

i saw on a documentry that having more sex reduces ur chance of getting pregnant because the sperm is getting rejuvinated... it takes 3 days or something for them to get strong again??
also... good luck on your journey ladies :)

Our Dr said this to us and suggested we cut back our BD to allow sperm to build up but also mentioned that the more sex you have the better the quality of the sperm. If you have no reason to think your man has a lower sperm count every day is fine.

We didn't worry about charting, I don't even know how to do it. I was preggers within 3 months of trying for both so we didn't have a need

We conceived our DS easily without any of that charting stuff.
This bub though, we did the works! Charting, OPK's, mucus checking, fertility drugs, follicle tracking.... the list goes on!
If you are only new to TTC and you feel stressed out by the thought of charting your cycle then for now just go with the flow and aim to have sex every 2nd day once AF leaves.
Good luck!

I am 32 and never heard of anything until now. I have had 3 boys and so decided to chart for one month and then TTC for month of June and that'sa ll it took.
I think you would bother with all that stuff if you really had trouble falling and or you wanted a particular sex. We have never had trouble and never actually tried to conceive any of our children, we thought we might try a different recipe this time.

hey shan,
i think most ppl fall pregnant without charting... i've been a little worried after being on the pill for 7 1/2 yrs and having had irregular cycles since i went of the pill in feb that i still might not be o'ing. I'm planning to chart this cycle to see if i o and then, if i don't fall pregnant, i dont plan on charting next cycle.. id prefer to just 'go with the flow'...lol
i know that doesnt answer ur question, but i thought it might give another insight into why some people chart :)
good luck with it all... hopefully ur a super fertile mama you gets the job done first go :D

I've never charted or checked ovulation dates or anything like that. We've just DTD and hoped for the best.
So far so good!

I started to chart but being a nurse and doing shift work it was useless I Do however note the length of every cycle and the days we try! Have been trying for a year now  NO LUCK though. So charting is probably good. Its different for everyone so I reckon do what is best for you coz charting can stress you and you dont need stress when TTC!! Good luck Hon and :babydust2::babydust2::babydust2::babydust2: for luck as well!

My suggestion to you is seeing as you have just started TTC, to just go with the flow for a few months. If nothing happens then you can start looking at charting.
When you really get into TTC with charts and OPK's and stuff it can get quite stressful. That stress can often work against you.
Relax for the time being and just have fun with it all. Good luck.

Prior to TTC#2, I never had any idea about ovulation either. I think I thought the egg was there all the time just hanging around waiting to be fertilised

No charting here. It did take a while (and apparently 6 months is an average mount of time TTC), but it's fun to practice!

Good to know! I knew there must have been some mums on here who didnt do any of that and i was thinking of just going with the flow for the first few months so fingers crossed..... I think if i started charting now it would stress me out when i dont necessarily need to.
Im taking my vitamins etc.... and from the reading ive done know when my fertile time should be so ill just take it from there! All exciting stuff though!
