Hey everyone. A lovely friend of mine slept with her boyfriend yesterday and they broke up today. Nice hey.

Whilst she was blubbering out her story, she mentioned that she slept with him with no protection and that was okay because she was on her first day of her period (sorry, I did say TMI).

I kind of looked at her and thought... ummm... I'm not so sure about that... she noticed the look and I asked her if she was sure.

She said yes.

Now I thought you still could? I thought it was just very unlikely.

So my question is, can you get pregnant whilst having your period? Has it happened to anyone here?

You aren't supposed to get pregnant when using the mini-pill, condoms and breastfeeding and I did.:rolleyes:

Well, yes, and that's what I was thinking too! Lol, in all honesty, I have always thought that if it's in, you're in with a chance :laughing:!

But I still want to know if anyone here has.

From what I no her chances would be slim to none, seriously better chances of winning Lotto.
The blood would kill off most of the sperm & any that may be left would have to be greeted by a waiting egg which is another almost impossibility as if you have your period your lining is shedding and the egg is gone.
The only way I see you can get pregnant when you have your period is if its not an actual period but just spotting or a break through bleed or if you are a really really early ovulator but even then very unlikely. I think your first day of your period is your least likely day to get pregnant.
