i need some help or even just some reassurance that my baby is normal!! she's 4 months and i'n breastfeeding her, we haven't started solids yet. My concern is green poo!! she'll be normal all day and then all of a sudden she'll do green poo and i'm talking grass green. Is it something in my diet that is making her do it?? it's only about once a week but i eat pretty much the same thing during the day so i don't know why it happens. Is it normal? also when she does normal poo its starting to smell really bad, i thought that wasn't supposed to happen until she started solids??
sorry it's a bit of a gross question but i'm worried!

Green poo usually indicates an increase in sugar in some way - so it could be that you have passed more sugar through to her via your diet, but it could also mean that she has had more foremilk, which is sugar dense and will cause poo to turn green.

yeh i agree with pp, indication of too much foremilk , ie are you only doing a quite quick feed and then changing sides, rather than leaving her on the one side for a complete feed so she gets the hindmilk? i read up a lot on this when i was b/f you can find heaps of stuff if you google 'green poo in babies' :)
