Heavy periods????

My DD is now 7 months old, and lucky me, I have had numerous periods in that time even though I exclusively breastfed for 6 months.

Does anyone else experience heavy periods in the first few days of their menstrual cycle? I have never had them like I do now, and in fact at times I could not wait another second before I change my tampon! :banghead: The first 2 days are unbelievably heavy and then 5 days of 'not much' follows....My mum (ex-midwife)thinks I need a D&C and I should go see my GP asap.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have that too, I think its just hormones, I think mine has started to settle a little but still really heavy for the first couple of days. Before I fell pregnant it was even worse!

What is a D&C?

I wouldn't have thought you'd need a D&C so long after a birth?!

My periods have definitely been very different than they were prior to falling PG. Same as you - very, very heavy the first couple of days, then triailing pretty rapidly away to spotting. But they do last a lot longer than beofre I was PG too.
