The big question......... to test vaginally or orally?????

I just started temping this week and was wondering would it be more accurate to temp vaginally or orally?
My GP said as long as I do it the same way everytime thats all that matters, but I thought I should ask some experts, so ladies :D what do you think?

Ive never heard of vaginal temping??!!??

Can u explain it a little pls as im very curious as to how that works?

On a side note, I have however been told by my Gyno/Endo that the Maybe Baby for O testing is a waste of money & to test O thru OPKs. I know many ppl swear by it, but he explained it so well that i believe every word he says.. afterall i pay him enough to believe him! LOL

I temped under arm for about 3 cycles, and then orally for 1 and the past two have temped vaginally. I find it much easier to pinpoint any temperature shift temping vaginally, so it's easier to pick up O.

I tempted for one month under arm have heard that vaginal tempting results in less fluctuations.

I used fertility friend to find out O day then the next month we tried and got a :bfp:.

For me Maybe was a waste too.

As long as you temp in the same place and same time I think it should be fine.

Its true that if you temp in the same place everyday, it shouldnt matter all that much and you should see a clear ovulation pattern. BUT, vaginal will produce less fluctutaions and more steady temps. I temped orally for a while, and found my temps were quite rocky, so switched to vaginal and temped that way for about 16 months before I got my BFP, so I would vote vaginal! :) Just make sure you have a therm that beeps when finished reading or you may fall asleep with it in there waiting...haha, I did that a few times, even with the beep...
