Hi all,
I am booked in to have a Laparoscopy/Tubal patency/D&C/Hysteroscopy in two weeks.
Just wondering when one could normally expect to get AF back after such a procedure?
Does it not really play with your cycle, and I should still O around the same time, and AF when it's next due?
Any info would be great!

hi, I have had a laparoscopy, and dont remember that playing with af at all,
I started seeing my gyn, after well over a year, trying to get pregnant, and the first thing she did was send me in for a hysteroscopy, and she said it should not ffect my Af at all, and a week after I had it, I had sex and got pregnant straight away. :yelclap: so dont know if it was that, op or maybe just happened to be one of the rare times I ovulated, but either way im happy.
good luck.

I have had 2 laparoscopies over the years and neither of them have affected AF or O. I think a Hysteroscopy was done during the 2nd laparoscopy and I still had no problems. My Gyno actually told me that I was O'ing when the surgery was done and sure enough, 2 weeks later I got AF. The only thing that may affect your cycle is a D&C but you should still have a normal AF afterwards.
Good luck

Hey Lisa
it should affect your af much. Will usually still happen around the same time. The reason they say dont ttc that month is cause general aneasth and surgery is not good for bubs... so they dont want you to be pregnant when they do the surgery.
you can start ttc'ing as soon as you get your af.
The 3 - 6 months after a lap (the window) is actually a time when you are most likely to conceive, as they have 'flushed your tubes' and done a general 'clean out'.
:fingerscrossed: best wishes

Heya Craftymum :o
I have recently had a Laparoscopy & Hysteroscopy done. I was told after the procedure that they don't realy "do much" inside there when I asked about when BD could resume.. teehee. Therefore as I was due for AF at any given moment, It came 2 days later. Lasted for 3 days - typical for me being irregular. BD was allowed a week afterwards, only for the reason of allowing wounds to heal, not for any "inside" reasons.
However as I only had these 2 procedures (which the hysteroscopy included the tubal patency) I am unsure what effect the D&C would have. I would presume it would allow your next AF to continue as per normal or even better from what i've been reading/seeing.
Can you give your GP or Specialist a call at all? I know my Endo/Gyno is available for any questions & his staff are wonderful to help.
I have seen a few videos on YouTube of Lap. & Hyst. since my procedure though I wish I had of seen it b4 simply to know what to expect. Not suitable for the squeemish or vulnerable though ;)
Good Luck to you, the procedure will hopefully bring you wonderful news & a positive future ahead ;)

Oh thanks all for your responses, I'm so excited to have finally made the decision to do it, although I gasped at the cost today as I am going private hosp
Its so good to hear that it should be business as usual. I will be due for AF about 2 weeks after the procedures so hopefully that will give enough recovery time and be ready for the next O!

Yep, I'm another who can vouch that it was 'business as usual' after my laparoscopy.
Good luck with it all :fingerscrossed:
