View Full Version : First on the way!
Hi all,
here on bahalf of my wife (currently sleeping - again!) who has a question about her belly looking slightly larger on one side when compared to the other. Is this normal - the baby moving around - or abnormal - we should be worried?
Joey is 17 weeks approx. all scans are ok so far. 20 week scan due within 4 weeks (obviously) :o
New to this site...looks great so far - good work bub hub creators!

Hi
I think that it is normal. for my first pregnancy one side of my stomach was always bigger than the other...especially towards the end as bub was breech and her head was sitting on the left side, making this side much much bigger.
Yes it is normal. It does look quite funny at times when the baby moves and lays all on one side. you may be lucky enough to see the bub moving from one side to the other which is something i found very special.
Good luck and enjoy seeing bub move in some weird and wonderfull positions.

Hi,
I agree....very normal...I am 30 weeks and you can tell where the baby is laying...by what side of my belly looks bigger...and feels firmer.....
Best of luck...
marilyn.
ps - you wife will sleep a lot!!! something working full time I miss at times...as sleeping at night is not the most restful thing to do anymore!!!

howdy,
sounds like you & your wife have one active bub-to-be there, just like our lil Thomas before he was born. I used to have all kinda of 'wierd' shapes in my tummy depends on which position he was laying!
Ahh how I missed these special 'shows'!

Im also bigger on my left side I think (im 17&1/2 weeks) I was wondering if its normal also LOL. If i do feel a slight movement (have a couple of times) it's been on my left also so I think the babys more on that side:)
Wow, thanks for all the great responses.
This site is a fantasic resource for newly preganant parents, we've been letting all our friends know how pleasant all you mums and dads are. Hope you and the little ones are all well.
Andre and Joey.
