Hi

I just wanted to share with everyone my posive expirence.... that today a doctor actually agreed with my choice to not vax my son, I couldnt believe it.
I was so worried about going to get my CO form signed because of being judged so harshly by so many people.
She was so lovely and had a 20 minute chat with me about how her son was a normal fun happy little boy until he got his MMR injection and had a bad reaction and then 2 weeks later was diagnosed with asperges. She told me that she feels so responsible because she was a doctor and never really researched it until his diagnoses. She said of course there is no direct proof that it is harmful but until there is absolute evidence that it safe for ALL children and not just a percentage of them she will not vaccinate any more of her kids, and likes all her patients to make an informed decision.
That the immunisation scheduall is over the top and most of the vaccines are unnecessary. She has vaccinated children and then have been back for treatment because they have contracted the disease.
I’m not saying anything against parents who vax their kids because I still believe it is a personal choice that each family need to decide on. But I do think that people should educate themselves and ask more questions instead of just trusting what a corporation or doctor pushes in front of you.

So I just wanted to share my positive experience because Im pretty sure it doesn’t happen that often. I hope that people who don’t want to vax, but feel like they HAD to (like I did) beacuse of social pressure know that it’s not the case and that if you look there are doctors out there that actually care about their patents and our precious babies. That want you to make an informed decision not just one they push down your throat.

Cr*p...where'd you find her

I've also met a GP who was similar, he was in Townsville though and was really great to have a chat to. It's nice when you meet a GP who actually has an informed opinion on it rather than just going through the drill they are taught.

Thank you,
Yeh i know i couldnt belive it! :smiliedance:

Shes on the gold coast and i think i wil make her my DS's GP from now on. He hasnt had one beacsue he hasnt been sick, but i know there wil come a time when he wil need one. I had come to the conclusion that the chances of me finding one who cared were very slim.
It was just so nice to be told that i was quite within my rights to be concerned, and not that i was stupid and putting my childs life in danger.

congrats:) yeap i know how u feel..see my earlier thread abt how we also had a similar wonderful experience with a GP here in victoria...more importantly it shows that antivax movement is beginning to be accepted by medical experts...this will lend more and more credibility to the antivax movement.
