1st birthdays!

Just seeing who elses bubs where born around this time as I am sure we are all excited about them turning 1!!!

Layla will be one on the 11th May so we are having a bbq at my parents house to celebrate on the 13th. Should be fun, although I think I am more excited than anyone else! I love birthdays!

OK, so developmentally Layla is crawling, pulling to stand, talking in baby gibberish, has 5 teeth and is as cheeky as! Not yet walking but that's ok coz i know she will be RUNNING when she decides to walk.

How are all your bubs going? Have you got anything planned for their birthdays? Any good present ideas?

I was thinking of going to the pound and getting a smallish dog.... I may regret that though! Not sure yet!

My DS Jack will be one on the 18th May... We are having a party for him at home to celebrate the occaasion, along with my 30th (17th May)... I have just had the invitations printed and am in the process of mailing them out... Then have to organise all the food, we have invited about 90 people, so lots to think about...

Jack is nearly walking, he takes steps from the couch to us and is gaining in confidence... Kind of hoping he will be walking by his birthday... He also has 7 teeth...

Don't have any ideas yet on what to get him... I'll have to go out and check out all the latest toys...

My DD Isabella is one 17 June.

We are looking at having a bbq also, i have no idea what present we will be getting her but i'm on the look out though

She is crawling everywhere, pulling herself up, stands by herself and walks holding our hands so wont be too long i think till she's walking.. she has no teeth yet but wont be too long i think as you can see them but they just aren't breaking the skin yet. she talks baby gibberish, says mum, dad, cat, dog & nan...

My little man is 1 on the 18th June. Can't wait!!

I am planning on organising a little party for him at a big beautiful park in Brisbane.

We have bought him a couple for books for his birthday so far... (he loves books!)... but will also be getting him something else like a little ride on car or something... and some little wooden puzzles.

He has been crawling since around four months is just getting his 5th tooth... can stand by himself and take a couple of steps, but certainly not 'walking' just yet. He mainly says 'Dada'... everyone and everything is 'Dada'... but if he's really hungry will say 'Mama'... (typical male!).
... and yesterday...believe it or not... we were at K-mart... I was talking to hubby and said the word 'yellow' in a sentence... and no joke... immediately afterwards... bub yells out 'YEWOW!' ... we both burst out laughing! It was amazing! One of those things you would have to see/hear to believe!

K will be 1 on June 16..
We are taking him home to NZ for his first birthday so he can meet all his family.
Everything he has done has been a break-neck speed. He is running around all over the place and if I thought I didn't sit down before, I definitely don't now!
He says mum-mum and dadda and cheese :rolleyes: He is now sleeping through the night :smiliedance:

Hi All,

Shane will be 1 on the 17th June. :eek: How time flies when you are having fun. We will have a little birthday party for him just at home in the backyard. He can race around there to his hearts content.

He has 4 teeth and has just started walking this week. He thinks he is great stuff now. He says "Dada" when he wants his daddys attention but still doesn't say "Mum" He says "ta" when given a biscuit or his bottle. It's so cute.

I am not sure what to get him for his birthday. Probably some board books and puzzles.

Ryder is 1 on the 16th of may, we are having a bbq at nana and grandpa's house (ours isnt big enough) with the family

Doesnt time fly? DF and i say to each other at least once a day "i cant bekieve he is nearly 1!"

Ryder started walking about a month ago and is getting really good, he also loves to climb (i swear he is a monkey not a child) :laughing:

I've just got a suggestion...we did this for Lukey's 1st birthday and it worked really well.
I bought a large frame and then got a mat cut to size (to fit the frame) and then got the shop to cut a standard photo size cutout in the middle.
At the party I had set out paint & a black texta so when the guests arrived, the kids put a handprint on the mat & the adults signed the mat...I used blue and red paint.
The next day when the paint was completely dry I put a photo of Lukey in the cutout and put it all together.
It hangs up on his wall and looks fantastic...and it's something that's a keepsake of his 1st birthday.

I've just thought of another thing I did for Lukey's birthday.
We had hired a farm for the day so I bought some bread and butter plates (plain white) and then painted a picture of an American style red barn with "A day on the farm..." and "Lucas' 1st birthday" with ceramic paints (from Spotlight). You bake them in the oven and voila....a birthday keepsake for each of the kids!
Lucas got his own special one with a cow on it...

not long till Elise turns 1 either. 19th may. invites will be gong out this week. we are having her naming ceremony and 1st birthday combined down at the harbour park. the theme is butterflies (i have some type of facination with them lol) i love the photo matt idea. i might do that too!!!

cody is having his christening on the 6th may :) its going to be DP's 21st, MIL's 50th and a second 1st bday for cody all in one day. MIL organised it all :laughing:

There is really nothing i can do for him to celebrate big, coz we are going to be here alone, i live 200 odd kms at the moment from everyone i know and they cant come here or me get there, and the ppl who live where i live are like my mother and such but shes working and so all i thought of doing was a spong cake with lots of creme and just let him spash about in it making a mess! :(

MJ will be 1 on the 18th of May :crying: too quick. We're having a party at a park on the 20th May. Its also my 26th on mothers day :o

Great idea bout the keepsake, DH is an artist so he can come up with something :p

MJs taking a few steps, has 6 teeth & is getting cuter by the day :D

Anyway i'd better go, today we are having a combined 1st birthday party for all the bubs in our mums group, havent seen some in months.

we are going to my mums today so my sister who lives with my mum and my mum get to see him. my brother and his gf are coming with us.we arent sure if cody will have a cake to eat coz he has been having problems with dairy :( but he wont worry bout a cake he will be more worries about his new toys :laughing:

We are having a combined birthday party and baptism for her on Saturday.

I'm sure she will have lots of fun. Hopefully she wont sleep through most of it.
I have hired a heap of toys from the toy library so that should keep the little kids happy.
