View Full Version : Books on twins
Hi,
Yesterday I had a dating scan and found out that I am having twins. Scary and exciting, I had a feeling I could be having twins and joked about it with my husband and other family members.
I didn't sleep very well last night, I think it is still a bit surreal that we are having twins. I will have 4 children under 4!!!
Anyway to the point of my post, I would like to buy a book about twins to refer to and find out more. Can anyone recommend a good "twins" book?
Thanks

Hi Ness, congratulations to you and DH on your news.
The only book I read was TWINS: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO PARENTING MULTIPLES.. by Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan.
They are both mums of twins, so it is written from the perspective of those who know.
Take it easy, look after yourself, accept ALL offers of help, and feel free to PM if you have any other queries.

Wow congratulations on your twin pregnancy, sorry but I didn't read any books about twins but I do recall looking at that same book Justine read. My advice would be to contact your local Multiple Birth association as i got advice from them and little booklets with info. Also pretty sure if you join them they do offer some kind of help when they are born at home, especially that you have other children. Good luck with everything!

Hi,
I also read the same book as Justine and am still going back and looking at it now that our girls are here. It was the only twin book I bought. Am also reading Baby Love at the moment which has also been helpful in a general way.
Good Luck and Congratulations!

I read a lot when i was pregnant, my library had a quite a few books. All of them had useful info, but the one the others have mentioned was good as it was from an australian perspective. There were also some good websites. It's a lot of fun, so don't be too daunted by other peoples attitudes. Good luck!

Congratulations Carey79. Twins are uniquely wonderful and special. When I found out I was having twins my sister in law bought the book Justine has mentioned - TWINS: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO PARENTING MULTIPLES.. by Katrina Bowman and Louise Ryan
I found it useful and in fact, kept reading and re-reading different chapters nearly every night.
All the best with your pregnancy. PM any of us if you want to ask ANYTHING!
