clearly there are (or at least should be) limits on parental/religious freedoms. im sure that pro and anti circers both agree on this point.

the debate concerns exactly where these limits lie.

The link does work. I don't think religion should be allowed to be used as an excuse to take away a child's right to choose what happens to it's body. Thank God my kids were christened Catholic and not Jewish like my husband because our child comes away from a Catholic christening unharmed. Unlike a Jewsish male eight days old.

PS I'm so over the whole pro and anti circumcision debate. Why is it the parant's choice - when does the child have a say what happens to its body? And, I'm so tired of hearing excuses/reasons about cleanliness etc as an excuse to have the procedure done. Boys are born with the skin for a reason. Why not circumcise baby girls as well if it all comes down to hygeine and cleanliness.
