Fibroids

Hi All,

Just wondering if any one here has any expereinces with being pregnant and having a fibroid/fibroids?

On my 12 week scan the ultrasound guy found that I had one (2.5cm diameter) which he said was common in older women etc... Its a little freaky watching the ultrasound video seeing this baby moving around on one side of it (sorta about same size as head in it...) :/

I'm a little worried as I myself was a caesarian birth due to being unable to move (I was transverse) because of them...

I gather at my next OB appointment next week he'll mention it - I will if he doesnt.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this also?

I can't be certain - we have a written report somewhere - but we were also informed Joey (my wife) has one of these fibroids. Our nuchal fold scan discovered it - she is 34 and we lost a child at 13 weeks last year so the scan was pretty comprehensive.

The radiologist (I think that was her title) informed us that such things are fairly common and nothing to worry about - which she was emphatic about.

I'll check tomorrow with Joey and if I need to add anything she thinks is relevent I'll update.

Thought I'd better clarify my earlier post!

My wife (Joey) informs me (shaking her head with her most disapproving look) that I'm incorrect. She was told she has some kind of benign cyst on or near her ovary.

Apologies for speaking before I checked my facts. Hope no harm or inconvenience came of my clod-headedness!

Well after talking to the Ob today it looks like the fibroids not in any position to affect the birth or the babyt so thats good:)

He did say though I could end up with a bit of a weird lump sticking out of my belly when I get a lot bigger though - hmm that could look a bit strange LOL
