Where to go from here???

Hi All, :wave:

I have recently cancelled my private helath insurance as i have discovered that im not covered for obstetrics (thats another post altogether) and im not sure what to do now? Im obviously going to give birth in a public hospital (which im fine with) so do i just call the hospital and make an appointment to have a tour ect or do i need to go back to my Dr and tell him im now not a private patient and get him to reffer me to the public hospital?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is our first baby and i have no idea about this type of stuff.

I recently cancelled my private health insurance too. :yelclap:

This will be my second birth in the public system. All you have to do is get your doctor to fill in a referral form which also usually includes the results of blood tests, pap smears etc and that gets sent off to the hospital.

They then contact you for the next step.....

were you not covered at all, or covered with 'resptricted benefits' cause sometimes you can get away with some rather strange things due to continuity guidlelines between funds :devil:
