Ok so this may sound like a dumb question but after reading some posts in here.

The very next time I changed Asher nappy I had a look at his doodle and well I don't see a foreskin at all.

So what is it that they actually chop off?

Congratulations on your little surprise, how exciting for you!
Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin.
Our bub was circumcised at 5weeks & from memory if your baby isn't circumsised you don't attempt to pull the babies foreskin back when you wash them until they're around 3 or 4? (Please anyone feel free to correct me if I'm incorrect on that age) The foreskin may not be noticeable as it is tightly wrapped around his willy as it has never been pulled back (nor should it be...yet), so the foreskin has not seperated from the penis.
Before our Bub was done his willy looked pointy but after having him circumcised the end is more rounded...if that makes any sense?

ds isnt done. i really didnt notice the foreskin as such till he was around maybe 6 months, its alot more noticable now though :) when he has his wash in the shower there is a pretty decent amount of skin there i imagine that would all be gone if he was circed :) (never seen a circed one ever in my life lol )

The foreskin covers the end of the penis. When they are babies it doesn't draw back from the end like it does when they are older but it is not attached so can be chopped off (circumcision). You shouldn't ever attempt to draw the foreskin back as it will not redraw totally until they are about 5. You should teach your little one when he baths himself to pull the skin back to clean under but he should do this himself as he won't pull it too far. It is possible to accidentally damage him if you do it for him because you may pull too far.

Thanks ladies, well there is nothing there so I'll wait and see as he grows.

After I posted this question I then had a thought my DH isn't circumcised but he doesn't have much of a foreskin either so maybe it's more of a genetic thing.

I don't know, don't really make a habit of looking at other people babies willies

I would never pull back his foreskin or force it in any way. That doesn't sound nice at all.
