PUPPPS and subsequent pregnancy

HI there,
We are currently thinking about whether to go for number 3. but a huge factor in deciding is I got the dreaded PUPPPS rash with DS2, and it was insanely awful and debilitating. I wonder does anyone know if you are likely to get this again if you have had it?

Hi,
I had it really badly with my first son from 28 weeks onward (totally covered my stomach and boobs and was so painful) but didn't have it at all with my pregnancy with my second son. It did appear mildly after I had given birth but cleared up with some cortisone tablets. I was worried about it too but it didn't happen again for some reason. I am now pregnant again and an hoping to avoid it once again. Good luck.

Thanks for that - its heartening to hear! I had it all over my body, except head, hands and feet - dont want to go there again!!!! LOL

a good friend of mine had this rash and it looked nasty, she was told she might get it again ,and she did:(

i got it with claire didnt no wat it was till they induced me for being over due n they asked if it was cause of that.... i got it till claire was 2wks old :banghead:

im 28wks preggers now n hoping i dont get it again mind u i got it at about 38-39wks

I also had the dreaded PUPPPS with my DS and it was very debilitating and painful! I can totally sympathise with you, i only had it for 3 weeks leading up to the birth and 3 weeks after, but it was terrible and contributed massively to not being able to Breast feed him :(, my skin was so sore and sensitive. The only thing that helped ease it was strong cortisone tablets and cream that i took after giving up BFing...

I dreaded getting it again with DD but thankfully, i didn't!!!

I really hope that you don't get it again either :fingerscrossed:!!!

I am not sure but I hope not! I have a rash similar to PUPPPS now- Its called Prurigo of Pregnancy and is very similar to PUPPPS except it starts earlier- I have had it since 23 weeks pregnant!
I hope for your sake that you don't get it again!

I had it with my first pregnancy from 34 weeks onwards but nothing at all with my second. Currently pregnant with # 3 and really hoping that I manage to avoid it this time around too! :fingerscrossed: Best of luck.

i had puppps with DS1

i got a horrid rash this time too but it thankfully went away quickly
and so far nothing else along.

puppps is apparently something you only get in one pregnancy
