View Full Version : Peg Perego Venezia pram
Hi, has anyone had any experience with Pegs and the Venezia model in particular? We've been recommended one by a shop assistant but a friend told me that they are a pain to go over curbs due to small wheels. They're meant to be top of the range and are not cheap, but are they practical? I personally like the reverse handle, the size and the look but want to be sure I'm getting a good pram. Can anyone advise?

I have a peg perego venezia pram and think it's generally a great pram!
I love the fact I have the front wheels moving no matter where the handles are. They fold quite compactly, which is good for small cars. We are still using it for our 2+ year old.
A bad point about the pram is that it's not really suitable for off-road suituations. So unless you want to do a lot of walking outdoors then the Peg is not really suitable for that.

I have one of these prams and find it great...I especially purchased it for the lightweight frame as lots of prams out there are very very heavy and hard to get in and out of the boot of the car.....I must admit tho I did take it back to the shop for repairs as one wheel was alittle wobbly but I think I would be to blame for that As I used to hang the Nappy bag over the handle and the bag was very heavy...But otherwise I love it....Its cool in Summer and nice and snug in winter.....
Also a friend of mine bought a 3 wheeler Valco Rebel.....This pram I would NEVER recommend she since has bought a new one as the Rebel was just appaulling.....Heavy and the wheel kept falling off......I also read in a magazine that its not even a Australian standard Pram....So Yeah take your time and choose carefully....Because as you said Prams are expensive so you want to get the right one ! GoodLuck :)

I have the Peg Perego Venezia pram and think its great. I love the fact that it is so easy to reverse the handle so I can have Ben facing me or facing outwards whenever I want (I often flip the handle round mid walk just to keep him in the shade). As far as I'm aware, you can't reverse a lot of the 3 wheel prams/joggers.

We intially had the PP venezia and I bought it for all the reasons that the others listed - lightweight, reversable, easy to fold, convenient, etc etc, and it was great for those things, but for the life of me I can't understand why they put those stupid little wheels on it - because it was that feature that meant we returned the pram and got a new one.
It was marketed to us as an all-terrain, all situation pram, but I found that unless it was on COMPLETELY even ground (ie a shopping centre floor) it squeaked, wobbled and carried on. I can't count the number of times I'd try to go for a walk with DD in it, and it ended up bouncing her so much that she couldn't fall asleep or get comfortable. Admittedly, we do live on land, but it was absolutely ridiculous.
So I would say, if you're planning on using it mostly as a town pram and not doing much walking on uneven ground, go for it - it has great features and we really liked those features. But if you're planning on actually walking ANYWHERE off road (ie even dirt paths at the local park) - then forget it.
