Just wondering what activities I can do with my 9month old. She rarely play s with her toys now, I buy new ones regularly, she checks them out for 10 mins then she's off down the hall way again! I just spend the whole day diverting her attention from no go areas! I like to take her out but sitting in the pram is no longer fun, I would like to offer more stimulating things for her to do, but what will keep her amused for more than 5 mins? I'm sure her behaviour atm is perfectly normal i just want to make sure she's getting the mental stimulation.

lol you sound just like me keanu is always given new toys but not interested hes into exploring and touching things hes not aloud to. some new activites that have worked well with him is outside baths with lots of suds. I also take him to the park and he loves the swings or sometimes we take a picnic and i take some bubbles he is fasinated and every thursday we go to swimming lessons. He also loves music and quite often we will be silly in the lounge with music playing banging pots and pans with wooden spoons that keeps him entertained for hours. also boxes with paper for them to crunch up. I am sure your doing a wonderful job it is tiring chasing tehm round the house all day hence the reason i just bought three safety gates. good luck hope this has helped a little.;)

My little boy loves playing outside! (He is ten months.) He crawls around on the grass... examins the leaves and rocks... plays with the dirt... pulls weeds out(!)

Inside, he likes to come in the kitchen, when I'm in there, and 'sort the tupperware' for me... or bang the saucepans with a wooden spoon. He loves having books read to him... and likes to play with things that he thinks he 'shouldn't' play with!
Sometimes I take the batteries out of the remote control and let him play... he loves to use the phone... don't really recommend that though, as he has made a couple of long distance calls!!
Ummm.... what else?!?!?!?
He's normally confined to the lounge room and hallway... and has 'supervised access' to the other rooms of the house... so if I really want to give him something exciting to do, all I have to do is open my bedroom door and he's off going through my clothes and pulling apart my bedside table! He REALLY gets excitied when he gets to explore the 'off-limit' rooms!:D

Hmm, thats all I can come up with!! Hope it was of some help to you!:)

When I have to study or cook or something that diverts my attention away from DD, I close the doors to the rooms she isn't allowed in and let her roam free and explore. Sure, she pulls all the book out of the bookcase and makes a huge mess, but I know she is safe and she is entertaining herself to let me get some things done.

Also, when I go outside to hang out the washing, I take her out with me. all the plants are kid friendly so she just loves crawling through the beds and digging and getting dirty. I do have to make sure she hasn't just had a bath though!

Also, when I go out the front to check the mail, I also let her explore out there. I think at this age, all they want to do it explore so I let her do it as much as possible. It breaks up the boredom of being stuck in the one main room for most of the day.

I also make sure I leave the house at least once a day, whether to pop down to the shops, go for a walk or visit someone. That way both DD and I don't go nuts being cooped up inside all day.

Hope you get some good ideas!

Hi there,

I would suggest to you if you are looking for differnt things to do with your baby look online for activities. There are heaps out there and alot of them don't cost money or are easy to make.

I suggest to go to google and then type in activities for babies and you will find heaps of websites.

hope this helps
