Hi,

I haven't cut my DD's hair since she was like 4 weeks old. She has a very long fringe and as you can imagine, it gets in her eyes quite a bit.

I am just wondering if any other mums out there stuck with it until you were able to slide their hair behind their ear? (It's *almost* there)

I put clips and pig tails, but she pulls them out most of the time.

My sis side parted her daughters fringe while it was growing out and kept it back with clips, eventually it just grew that way & now doesnt need clips at all. Stick with it if u can, wont be long now, have you tried headbands? Cloth and plastic ones?

I did then i cut it LOL stupid me :( storm was 3 when i cut it and i am so annoyed now but a fringe really suits her, i used to just either do it pepples like bam bam style or get one of those stretchy head bands (u get kids sizes) she did pull it out but she got used to it :)

ohhh we're at this stage now - I tie it back with ponytails and clips which she HATES.. not sure whether to give it the chop or allow it to grow out.

I feel your pain!

I figure she will grow it out eventually, otherwise it would be a pain to have to get a fringe cut all the time. Also she looks like a boy if she has one

She used to be so good. she wouldn't touch her hair clips and pig tails.. but now she takes it out and tries to put it back in herself

Yes, it is annoying, but am almost there with DD2 and did DD1's a long time ago,

I always put the fringe up and they looked like pebles of the flintstones. so cute, if they leave it up.

Im still growing out DDs fringe because of a nickname she has received lol

Lately Ive been plaiting her hair from as close to the front as I can - bordering on a braid really. Either do two plaits on each side, or a half up half down plait.

Her hair is quite long at the back so it always gets tied up with the plaits now. She wont wear clips for long either

I've grown out DDs!

I got one cut in, but it looked like rubbish, and I hated that I had to get it done over and over and over... stuff that.

So I let it grow out.

She too would pull out clips and whatnot... so there were times when she just had hair in her eyes a bit. Meh. I tried.

It wasn't a big deal, and now it's mostly grown out. Not to the length of the rest of her hair, because I've never had the back of her cut in the nearly 3 years of her life...lol... but it's long enough to be tied back and such. :)

I have grown Bugs out and just kept using clips, headbands, and although she kept pulling them out, i kept putting them back in. Now i just tell her to get her hair out of her face and she pushes it back.

I got those tiny rubber hair ties. Then used a comb and put the short bit up first. So for 2 pigtails instead of 2 hair ties I would use 4. Or if it's really short you could use 6.

Or braid it but put the short bit in a little hair tie first and start braiding from that bit of hair.

Can I ask what age people started growing there DD hairs out. DD is 11.5mths and the front is getting long, she has a natural part so I am sweeping her hair to that side but wondering whether I should cut now and let it grown when she is a bit older. I do want her to have long hair.

My DD has never had a fringe, so when she was little it was just hair clips, and headbands like everyone else.
I part her hair on the side, so the majority of the hair falls over to that side and not in her face.
I'd say keep trying with the hairties etc, they do eventually get used to having them in. But it'll take a bit ofor her to get used to having them in.

Oh how I feel your pain! DD (about to turn 2) has always had plenty of hair, but she has a double crown so it could part either way. Consequently all it does is hang forward. It got long enough to put in a top knot and I loved that, but I'm lazy and ended up getting it trimmed. Big mistake - she looked like she had a mullet for a while there, poor kid

So now it's just growing. It hangs way down in her eyes, but I persevere with tying it up either in one or two top knots. I also use the tiny little bands - they work well and aren't too easy to pull out. I've tried the headband but they last about 10 seconds, and she loves clips but loves to pull them out too.

For a while there she'd have a big whinge when I was trying to tie her hair up, but in this last week or so she's become fascinated with the bands so it's much easier to do. I show her too that mummy uses bands to tie her hair up and she loves this. Before this I found the easiest way to do it was before I got her out of the high chair after breakfast, or while she was sitting on the change table. They're both places she sits pretty still so it made it much easier for me.

Bridee, if you can deal with it, I would just not get her hair cut from now on. Or at least until the fringe gets to a decent length, then get the whole lot trimmed to a style of sorts. That's my intention, anyway.

i caved in and got DD's fringe cut about a month ago but i am already kinda wondering if i should of or not, am not sure i will do it again or just comb it to the side and clip it till it grows out.
