My obstetrician wasnt present for the birth but the midwives were brilliant and even had me laughing in between contractions. I had requested in my birthplan to be standing upright while giving birth and ended up on my back (for an internal) I was just going to lie there because I felt like a beached whale but the midwives reminded me of my birthplan and got a forklift to get me back on my feet again.
I was extremely happy with the treatment there and their dedication to my wishes when it came to labor and delivering my bubs :D

ME! ME! MEEEEEE!

Hi!
I gave birth to DS at Werribee Mercy November 29th 2005.
And yes, I had Dr Calandra too. He is fantastic. He was also my obst with my DD in 2002.
I thought Stephanie was sooooo great! She was just wonderful. We actually bumped into her a few weeks later shopping at Highpoint and she recognised us and came up to say hello. Which was great since I'm sure she sees hundreds of women. :)

I had Izel (DD) at Sunshine and swore black and blue never to go back there for giving birth. Dr C recommended Wer/Mercy. He was right. Except their administration leaves ALOT to be desired.
I've had grief about a bill apparently they sent me (wrong address) which they should have claimed from my private health insurance anyway!
I only found out when i was being harrassed by a legal firm on the phone.
Anyway, thought i'd save myself the frustration and paid them directly and got rebate from private health fund. Got a receipt for my payment also... only to get another of the SAME bill demanding payment.

The inpatient care provided by staff... well let's just say i wouldn't even try to compare it to my experience at Sunshine Hospital!

Oh really?? :)
I can imagine that would have made her interest iin you and your little one much stronger. She has a knack for making life much more comfortable.
She actually reminded me ALOT of someone I used to work with years ago. They have the same mannerisms, laugh, openness and even look alike. I never got to ask her about it. I am SO convinced they must be sisters.

I've never heard of Dr Sahar. Actually, other than Dr C, I only ever hear about Dr Naidoo (never seen them though). I think Dr Calandra has definitely mastered the ight amount of interest in his patients, without making it a big fuss, and not being careless.
He is great!
