Please help!!
I have a beautiful 14 week old bub and she has already been through a lot of dramas since she was born. At 8 weeks old she got Bronchiolitis (similar to asthma) and ever since she has been home, she has been getting a really bad rash ( usually on her forehead) and it comes every time i have given her bath and put some moisturising cream on her forehead where the dry skin is. Since being out of hospital we have found that she is allergic to lavender and any of its extracts or what not!!
We haved used:
- Mei Mei (delicate skin) cream FAILURE
- Ungvita (vitamin A ointment recommended by pharmicist) FAILURE
- Olive oil FAILURE
- Medihoney (for eczema and skin irritations) FAILURE
- Natralia body wash (skin irritations, psoriasis, eczema) FAILURE
- Johnsons and Johnsons soothing naturals with olive oil extracts KINDA WORKS BUT NOT A GREAT DEAL.....
Is there anyone out there who could recommend something that would work for us. Its stressful enough for us. She continuosly scratches and it hurts us to see her in so much agony. Please? I don't care if it costs a fortune to get the product. I will literally spend it to get her to stop scratching. We always put socks on her hands to try and stop the redness and irritation but she has managed to find a way to get them off. Please i am so desperate for advice and some help:hair:

we ended up using Aveeno , with menthol for soothing ( from that range its in tub with dark blue )
we used it on DS2, he had really bad skin all over. We were just really careful it didn't get in his eyes. I could actually see the relief in his eyes when we put it on, it took all the redness away.

You may have to see a doc, they might recommend something like dermaid, can by over the counter but because its a hydracortisone (sp?) its best with a docs advice, especially on the face.

good luck, Iknow have stressful it can be

Can i ask what you use in the bath? Sometimes its not how you tread it after the bath but whats in the bath. I found this with DS. The QV was great in moisturising the dry areas but would get rid of it because the irritation of the bath products was still there. I stopped using anything at all in his bath and his eczema has cleared up.

My dd suffers from excema... i find the best thing for rashs dry skin excema is the Alpha Keri products

ill put the Alpha Keri oil in her bath (little goes a long way)...or oyu can spread it over their wet skin at the end of the bath and pat dry...really helps put the moisture back in her skin

their is also an Alpha keri wash that wont dry the skin out

also the moisturiser is fantstic..little goes along way again!

You can buy these products at any chemist.

Hey, i don't put anything in the bath just warm water. My partner and i are avoiding anything that might cause her rash to fire back up, but one way or another it seems to do it on its own accord.
I hate seeing her in so much distress.:banghead:

I use Hamilton Skin Therapy Lotion whiich you can get from the pharmacy. It has worked really well on the dermatitis on DD's arms.

I would also recommend going to a gp so that they can have a look at the rash.
