Hi everyone

i went off the pill on the 6th March and since my withdrall bleed i have not had AF return. We wish to try for a boy (even though we will love either) so we need to time BD on ovulation so cant really just be BDing every day. I am charting my BBT every morning at the same time (link to chart below) and have been observing my CM (moreso lately) however i am really confused....

Im not sure i have ovulated, my BBT and CM signs kind of match up in 2 areas as far as i can see around the 12th April and now... by that i mean some sort of fertile CM and a high temp... although there is not really a dip before hand or a continued high temp after. Apart from that my chart doesnt seem to bounce up and down too much, i thought it was resonably steady (compared to others i have seen).

I dont want to miss an O opportunity and realise too late that i have ovulated, although because we want to try for a boy i dont want to be BDing every second day for the sake of it. Would it be too late if we BD's after every large dip or rise? I know that generally on the rise the egg is already released... The thing is like this morning, i recorded a rise but we dont have time for BD in the morning so it would have to wait until the night of the rise... is that too late?

Can anyone see any positive signs on my chart? I am all pretty new to this and dont know if i am reading too much into it.

I took a HPT this morning for the 12th April BD but it was a BFN..

Very confused  :(

Hi Nicole

I am not really an expert, I just know a bitn about charting from my own experiences with it. Looking at your chart, the only possible O days I can see are CD41 (18th) or possibly CD44 (today)
With the CD41 there is a dip and a slight rise but the temp is not maintained. With todays possible O it is a bit difficult to say really as you would have to watch your temperatures for a few days to see if it is O by which time you may have missed it.
My advice, if you wasnt to try for a particular sex, would be to chart your cycle for a month or two first to see what day you usually O on especially as it is a boy you want.
As you know, if you are trying for a boy then the best time to BD would be the day of O and the day after or something like that. This means that you have to be very aware of when you are ovulating as the windown of opportunity has been narrowed down somewhat. I have to say though, this method is by no means an exact science.. put it this way, if it were, I would be having a boy :-) We werent trying for a particular flavour. Maybe next time I might!
