I gave my 14 month old DS some Kiwi Fruit for morning tea on Wednesday and within 1/2 hour he had diarhoea, within 1 hour I was also very sick, but just severely nauseas, no diarhoea (thank goodness) I was very sick all afternoon, so Mum had to come around to help out and the little guy had one more very runny, watery bowel movement in the afternoon again at about 4.. after this he had his dinner and a bottle (also some pedialyte - like gastrolyte to help with fluids and some panadol) . He was ok again for the rest of the night and then again yesterday he had 2 runny diarhoea nappies - I have yet to see what will happen today.. but does this sound severe? I have never dealt with diarhoea before.
Thankfully I felt better by yesterday lunchtime. He seems himself playing and everything but his eyes look darker. is there much doctors can do for diarhoea?

Mostly they will tell you to keep his fluids up which it sounds like you are doing. Just keep pumping them into him and if you are concerned re his symptoms, take him straight to the Dr.:hugs:
I've heard that kiwi fruit can loosen bowels, so maybe that's how it affects both of you. Keep your fluids up, and go see a doctor if you're really worried.
Found this, any allergies to anything else?
Kiwi fruit
A tiny number of people have reported reactions to kiwi fruit. Some of these reactions have been severe, especially in children, and the number of people affected appears to be increasing. This may be linked to a general increase in allergic diseases, as well as the growing popularity of this fruit in the UK, particularly among children.
Kiwi fruit is a good source of vitamin C, potassium and fibre. If your child has other allergies, or if there's a history of food allergies in your family, then it's not a good idea to give your baby kiwi fruit before he or she is six months old. (Ideally you should not introduce any solid foods before six months, unless advised to do so by your GP or health visitor.) It could be the kiwi fruit but there is a hideous gastro bug doing the rounds at the moment so it could be that. Like the other ladies said just keep an eye on things.
