Ox Tail Stew?????

Does anyone have a good recipe for this?? It is DP favorite stew ever! Only thing is I have no idea how to cook it!
It is DP's birthday next week and we cant really afford to go out so I want to surprise him and make him a yummy meal!
Any recipes would be greatly appreciated, as would ideas on what to serve with it and any ideas what wine/drink would go well???? Geeez I dont ask for much do I:laughing:

I HATE ox tale stew my mum used to make it all the time when we where kids and make us sit at the table till it was ALL gone then gave us bread to scrap out the little bits lol

Thanks- I know what you mean, I actually dont like it much at all myself!:o The one that i had as a kid would make me ill:barf:it was awful! and made even worse by it getting served up with parsnip mash and brussle sprouts!!
But i did have a taste of one a while back that had been bought from one of those little homestyle bakery places and it wasn't too bad! not the fatty gross and bland stuff i remembered!
I am having a look on Google but all the recipes are so different! because i haven't EVER cooked with it and rarely eaten it I dont really know which one to make-was hoping someone here would have one they make/like.
DP's dad used to make it for him but his dad passed away before we met so I have no idea how he used to make it!
Just would really love to make DP something that HE loves and I dont usually make !
