Hi Everyone,

I just have a quick question about washing my flat cloth nappies.

I am going to dry pail and was just wondering how to best do this with a front load washing machine. It doesn't have a soak option. The only way to soak something in it is to turn it off mid cycle. Do I need to do that or just wash them. I also have the normal Cotton option or a Quick 30 option that can have the washing done in 30 mins. Which option am I better off using.

I have a 7kg LG

Thanks Stacy

I have a 7kg LG front loader, and I am dry pailing my flats.

I use the pre-wash cycle followed by the hot cotton wash with 1 teaspoon of Tri-Nature Alpha Plus washing powder.

DS is 3 months old, and we have not had any nappy rash, nor have we had any nappies which have come out of the wash with any staining.

aardvark's suggestions were most useful! Pre rinse is a good idea so that nappies aren't soaking in or washing in essentially 'wee water'. And if you have the option for a higher rinse water level (my machine does that) you could use that too as it makes sure there is NO detergent left in the nappies.
