40th wedding anniversary gift idea...

I want to buy something for my MIL and FIL, any suggestions??? I would prefer one gift for both of them to share....!

Hi,.......Well if you want too be traditional (always nice & thoughtful ;) for the older generation) a 40th Anniversary Gift is Rubies

So.....some idea's would be.....

Ruby or red glassware (tumblers, plates or goblets)
Ruby coloured throw pillows or a nice big rug (maybe in a plush/velvet material)
Deep red rose bush in a nice red pot
Japanese Maple Tree with red leaves....if they like gardening
A case or bottle of fine Port or red Wine
A nice ruby coloured bed set
