Seaworld...get a life!

As reported tonight on Seven's Today Tonight program, Seaworld on the Gold Coast has decided to change the name of "Fairy Penguins" to "Little Penguins" so as not to offend the gay community!!!
I mean come on Seaworld...is this for real or a cheap publicity stunt?
They (the penguins) are referred to as 'fairy penguins' because of their size...not their sexual orientation, or the fact that they don't leave money for teeth or live in the bottom of the garden I suspect!
What about 'little' people, surely they will now be offended to have their 'community' likened to penguins? What would Prince say...he's little!

There's a Mitre 10 store in Geelong which would surely be looking at changing their name now that the world has gone completely mad!!!

But with this, they're achieving the exact opposite of what a PC agenda would be aiming for: the implied vilification of homosexuals.

I'd pretty much say the same thing for 'rainbow sheep' (how dumb is that, I ask you).

Is 'black' a dirty word now? Is it a shameful thing to be? Is calling something black (when that's the colour the sheep is, dammit!) some foul insult that we must educate our children to avoid?

Atually i have a funny story about gay penguins !!!!!
There was a "couple" in a zoo somewhere in the U.S i do believe that they kept hoping would hurry up & have babies because they were always "mating" with each other etc so finally one day the staff decided maybe they needed to help nature out a little so decided to do some testing & low & behold it was found both penguins were male !!!! Then they tried to split them up can you believe it !!!! :mad: To which they pined for each other so they were put back together yayaya so happy ending for all :D

Mamaduke - Honestly i would save your money up & go to Monkey Mia in W.A will be a much more rewarding experience for you & the boys trust me ! Watching dolphins in a surrounding that is fake & also cruel is nothing compared to watching them in the wild & really swimming with them !!! I will never ever forget my experience & the fact that i even had a mummy allow me to swim with her baby & play etc was just awe inspiring !

Do you ever watch Media Watch on ABC Monday nights? It really lets you know how often this sort of thing happens. Journalists catch half a story then run with it and it's not followed up or researched properly.

Actuly I have something els to add. Sorry it's not about penguins but it's along the same lines.

I am or was a bit of an Enid Blyton fan of "the magic far away tree" . A wile ago now they were having an Australian reprint (don't quote my facts here but the base of the story is true) and they were going to change the Names of **** and Fanny because children were laughing?
