hello mommies..
on my 20-week scan it shows placenta laying pretty low..2cm from cervix..they said to take it easy...how easy is taking it easy? currently working 4 days in hospital..busy wardwork..can be quite stressfull and physical...i've been feeling my uterus getting rockhard...like a ball...am 23 weeks now...is that a sign of stress and working too hard? this is first baby...so not much common sense if it comes to these things..who can tell me?
thank you

I was told to avoid lifting heavy things such as baskets full of heavy wet washing and heavy toddlers. As for that rock hard feeling they sound like braxtons!:)

I was told not to lift anything over 5 kg and no streanuous activities- but my did bleed- ask your OB what excactly can you do.

I didn't slow down in my life.

I was told no penetrative s3x.
no lifting anything heavy.
no travelling too far from a hospital.

next time you see your OB ask them exactly what they mean about what they want you not to do.

I also have a low laying placenta, diagnosed at 20 weeks (I'm almost 22wks now). My OB said that it may "grow up the uterus" with the baby. I was told to take it easy as well and let him know if there was any bleeding. I have a 13kg 1yo boy and was told lifting him is still ok because it's what I'm used to.

Hope it doesn't cause you any problems. Good luck.

DS was my PP baby, so everything worked out fine for us.

We had a cs at 37 weeks because he was breech across the top with the placenta under him. Totally jammed in with no room. OB did not want to take any chances that I would go into labour with him.

He came out small, but perfect.

hope you have no trouble and that it moves for you. :fingerscrossed:

I was diagnosed with a low lying placenta very early on in the pregnancy and had alot of bleeding ... up until I gave up work.

My OB suggested I stop working (I'm a Massage Therapist) around 20 weeks and I've not had any bleeding since I stopped work.

So taking it easy for me was stopping work. I have still done everything at home and with my toddler as per normal.

My placenta was 1cm away from the cervix.
