I have this idea for a business that I have been toying with for years now and I still don't know whether to bite the bullet and go for it.

It is something that I keep coming back to, I guess it is fear really that is holding me back. That and the fact that I have no business knowledge what so ever.

I feel that my idea is a good one and one that would be successful, but I may just be being biased. Is it really necessary doing market research? Or should I just give it a go and see if it works?

My idea is for a product which I would have no trouble making myself, but I don't know how I would market/sell it.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions from those who have/are running their own businesses from home.

Start a business plan, do your research :) Unless you have money ti pi$$ up against the wall i would really do my homework. The ATO has a great book for small businesses and covers alot of areas it may even be on their site.

Good luck
