Im getting DS2 a prem doll (http://www.loddonmalleekids.org.au/PrematureBabyDolls.php)made up for him
and probably a few other little bits and pieces
Great thread Jo, I certainly need suggestions.
For me its harder as I already have DD1, so we have lots of toys including ride on/push toys for DD2 which she loves (we have an old FP Bingo). DD1's baby pram has a broken wheel so I got DD2 a stroller which she loves (couldn't keep it hidden til the birthdays).
We have lots of stuffed toys, educational noisy FP toys, musical instruments, tea sets, little people etc so I'm running out of ideas and fast.
We've got a wooden train set and doll house for both the girls plus tickets to see DORA live, but it would be nice to get something personal just for DD2 - so ideas/suggestions are welcome!!
I've thought about the party and have that mostly planned (in my head) - will be in a park, with a ladybird cake and theme. I'm going to get some personalised stamps for the invites.

Great idea Jo! I have no ideas as even though Ange is my third but well lets just say I've never had a clue as to what to get any of my kids for their first birthdays. I've been thinking about somethinglike a keepsake but no idea what.
So I will be back once I have some ideas.
Zenifa - love the ladybird party idea.:yelclap::goodvibes:
I will be watching this thread.....
It's kinda easy for me, since Hannah is my first...
We are going to get an outdoor toddler slide either for bday or Christmas, and we have a toy storage thing, little lounge and chairs and table for her. And perhaps some other little bits and pieces but not sure, just if I see something I like.
My mum has gotten a stride-to-ride walker for her.
Clothes and books (you can never have too many books!!) are also great.
HI great thread too me ages to post though!
Im thinking about the stride and ride thing but should i give it to her now she is so mobile and wants to walk i really have no other ideas its hard i dont want to buys anything that she wont use!

Good question! I haven't even thought that far ahead to Teas first birthday.
I really have no idea so it will be good to see what ideas everyone else has :)
We will get her some new bathers in size 1 and a hooded towel, plus some other clothes, shoes and a doll (already got a stroller), so that she and DD1 don't fight over the other ones in the house.
Now for keepsake presents, any ideas?

anyway-
*little table and chair set (from grandma) is already bought and waiting.
I have gotten thus far-
*name puzzle
*'the places you will go' dr seuss book
that's it!
I am thinking definitely some more books and maybe an item or 2 of clothing. Not keen on getting piles and piles of big plastic toys until I know she actually wants them.
Will definitely come back and check thsi thread though - post away people!

DD's main present will be a sand pit - I'm going to get someone (not DH as he is so not handy), probably my BIL, to landscape one into our backyard - plus all the bits and pieces to go with it. I got her a fold out sofa and some wooden blocks in the toy sales but not sure if I'll keep those till Christmas. Also, books, lots and lots of books.
ooooh good idea's with the name puzzles
where do you get them from? and how much?
i wil be getting DD one of those clam shell things and filling it up with sand. hopefully it will stop her digging the sand out from mums garden:rolleyes:
i already have for her birthdya/christmas(this is all from my family member)
- a little elmo couch
-a cleaning set with little broom etc ..she likes to clean:laughing:

-a walking winnie the pooh doll

we ordered some funky little rompers (short legs and arms) with DF's favourite band logo on them.
we also go a 'tickle me freud' to add to the list.
reckon we will also get some of the baby loves jazz etc books from amazon as well. because her birthday is in November you can kind of plan to get a heap of stuff now and then divvy it up around that time -some for birthday and some for xmas.

that's from Tasmania though, I recall someone in our dec group finding one from NSW. they dp post though and are very very good.
Thanks SE, I had a look at that website, but I found someone that does them in NZ a hell of alot cheaper, even with postage to OZ lol, i'll see if I can find some local ones though

DD really doesn't need anything! She has all DS's toys to play with. But she IS a girl so I will HAVE to get her something girly :).
So far I have gotten her a cabbage patch doll. I also put her a pram on layby yesterday but this is also for DS to play with (yes he loves dolls and prams).
I will probably get her some books and clothes, maybe a ride on bike/waker?

I sorta have some ideas planned but haven't actually bought anything yet. Seeing that DS's birthday is only a day before Xmas Day we'll get some stuff and then decide closer to the date which stuff to give him on his b'day and the rest for Xmas.
Main pressy ideas are a ride on trike, one that can be used from 12 months where they can be strapped in, and then it can progress to about 3 years. Saw some at Toys R Us so will check them out closer to the date.
And then I've also seen an activity table that is suppose to help teach the ABC's and counting and colours/ shapes etc. My sister bought one for her DD a while back and I recall my niece playing with it all the time.
So that's two main pressies, one will be for b'day and the other for Xmas. And of course he'll be swamped with other pressies from rellies, tho' I have told them to steady on and not go overboard. Hopefully they'll listen.

DD1 previously got a table and 2 chairs, but they fell apart, so we might get some wooden ones from one of the grandparents for DD2.
The name puzzle sounds good!!

Great reminder, we have a clam shell sandpit but need more buckets/utensils so I will add that to our list!!

Jo can you give us the details of this site? as the other one is expensive, my kids have 6 and 7 letters in their names!!
I have gotten DD2 a melamine feeding set (bowl, plate, cup), a toy phone, doll, pram, some clothes and I am thinking of this Twilight Ladybug www.sleepsheepandfriends.com.au
Its DD2's birthday in less than 5 weeks, so keep the suggestions coming!!
I'm in the process of planning the party at the moment. I'm such a planner things have to be mapped at oh and the fact that it is so very exciting to have baby first birthday to plan. I just did his Baptism and made a rod for my own back my having a luncheon with fancy foods to make and the most ridiculous cake with my large tribe of family so this time I've decided to do a beach theme so its casual laid back and i can do easy BBQ salads and nibblies! But I dont know about the presents!!! Mum and I have been talking about it and I dont know. Mum is going to get him a clam but she doesnt know what else. I was thinking a toddler play thing for outside as we dont have anything like that but I dont know!
Hey Zenifa, the person I found does up to 9 letters for $16NZD so pretty cheap lol, i'll pm you in a min (or later tonight) when I find the link,
