Ok, this is a bit personal but I really want to know if it is normal.
I was having a general tidy up "down there" and found that my labia are very swollen.:o

I'm not sure if this is a usual thing, or if it is something that I should be worried about.
Baby is head down and in the pelvis (4/5 stat.)(3 weeks ago baby was transverse), could it just be added pressure, and increased blood flow to that area that is causing it to swell? My tummy has dropped heaps in the last week too.

There is no pain, it feels like I am wearing 4 or 5 heavy flow pads - but I'm not wearing any. By touch, it feels 3 or 4 times the normal size. Should I get DH to have a look and make sure all looks normal?:o

I cant remember this happening in previous pregnancies.
Should I be using ice packs, or doing anything for it, or just ignore it?

Thanks for any advice. - It is a weird/embarrassing one.:(

Is it one side or both?

Mine is like that at only 27wks. It has been for wks now. Middy at my last appointment said it is just increased blood flow to the area. As long as there is no pain it is normal.

Hope that helps

Thanks ladies for your help.

can I use icepacks to try and reduce it, or am I better off just ignoring it?

You could try the ice pack but i dont know if that could cause any probs. I know ignoring it is safe :D. Sorry not much help but i have just got used to mine being like that.

Thanks Danni,

I will try just getting use to the extra chicken fillets between my legs, and I will talk to the obstetrician at the next appointment.

I would think it would be fine to use ice, but also fine to ignore it :)

Try and keep off you feet as much as possible?

Goodluck :)

I had a similiar thing on one side with my 4th and doc said it was a varicous vein, couldn't do much about it except ease it with rest and ice pack. It cleared up after bubs was born
